I'd recommend the Samsung M610. I have the 610 and haven't had any problems. GREAT PHONE.

DO NOT i repeat DO NOT get a samsung. I have dealt with samsung alot. They are pieces of crap. They are slow. They get really bad reception. The battery's suck. When using browser they sometimes soft reset. Camera's are slow. They say you have reception but when you go to call or text they go to no service. Any Sanyo is good. OR a Moto krzr. But whatever you do don't make my mistake and get a samsung. Or i think they have the nokia 6165 at some sprint stores. that would be a good phone.

may i ask why? i've had the same issues... my sanyo was the best phone i have ever had! even my mom agrees she would much rather have her 2 year old sanyo than a new samsung.

Samsung A920 or the Samsung A900. Both were awesome phones and still stack up against newer releases. In newer phones, the Sanyo M1 is just plain out aweseome.

I know we're all (corps, RS) supposed to be pushing the UpStage right now, but I just can't like that phone. It's probably where the mobile market is going, but I think it's going to take a while to get people to follow.

like i have said i had sprint with several different phones and sanyos are defiantly the best phones before we had to cancel because we moved (rural Iowa) my whole family had a sanyo from a VI2300 to a MM9000.

Sanyos are great phones, but actuallly RECOMMENDING a Motorola phone is re-freakin-tarded. Also Samsung's phones of the past few years have been great, very few issues and GREAT performance. But I digress... my point is that Moto sucks big fat donkey balls. 😁

The CDMA handset I previously was using before I switched to the RED Samsung M500 I had won last year here at the Phone Scoop 2006 Holiday Auction to benefit the Global Fund was the Samsung A920 and feel it's an excellent 1xEV-DO Rev 0 (Power Vision) handset. The main reason I switched to the M500 was the fact it's a bit slimmer and compact as well as the fact it supports both stereo Bluetooth as well as speech to text. LOL!

I would also like to know why? O and just to let you know the worst advice ever was when someone told me samsungs were good. because ever since i got a samsung all i have ever wanted to do was throw them across the room.

Honestly, some people get good samsungs and some people get bad ones. I agree that some of them are junk HOWEVER there are good ones out there, and it may even be within the same device. I have had customers that will rant and rave how much the A900 sucks (battery life mainly) but then with a personal experience it was a great phone! It is all personal experience. Like me for instance... Moto RAZR is a terrible phone, worst phone i have ever owned... but i am sure that there are people in here that will disagree.

On to a recommendation... a few phones that i have been hearing good things about and one that i have used myself are...

Sanyo M1
LG Fusic (best phone I have ever owned!)
Samsung Upstage (so far so good if you can get use to...

my vote is for the m1 also, just switched to it from a katana. not that the katana was bad, it just didnt have mp3, and the downloaded ringers were a little low. SANYO ALL THE WAY!!! 😉
