Question... Whats your opinoin on the handset lemon law registration working its way through the Ill. state legislature, what effects do you think it will have on the carrier customer relationship?

That all depends on whom the law will hold accountable for the "lemon", how they define what will constitute as a lemon, and what course of action the consumer is to follow.

If the law holds the manufacturer responsible and has the customer pursue recourse through them without the carrier being the middle man then I would support that cause. However the limits of this law should be CLEARLY defined because I can see numerous problems arising from this.

I do see carriers expanding on and enhancing the handset replacement procedures they already have in place to adhere to the law and to better suit their customers and avoid any legal action that might be brought upon them because a consumer felt wronged.

As he said it all depends on how it actually comes out. However, the only people it will be bad for is the customer, all the stupid stuff they used to get their phones swapped out for aren't going to work anymore.
