I would like someone to try and help me understand something. I have just ported over to Sprint from T-Mobile and im not sure if I am happy yet. I know I have 30 days to decide but I want to reach out to you guys for assistance. I had my plan changed from regular to employee pricing and already im experiencing difficulities. Sprint says if you change your plan during a billing cycle you cant track your minutes until the end of the cycle. How antiquated of a system are they using if this is truly the case???? So now I have to call Sprint daily to get an update of my mintue usage. How inconvienent and unacceptable is that???? Also whats this crap about having to pay $15.00 a month just to surf the web. T-Mobile was never that costly. If I wan...

Here's what you can expect if you don't pay the $15.00/month for the Sprint Vision/Power Vision Access Pack
1. Each of those wonderful picture you take will cost you roughly $6.00 a piece to send as well as receive.
2. As you are browsing through various websites on your handset, you are get charged approximately $0.10/second.
3. It'll cost you an estimated $30.00 to download just 1 whole music song track.

Get ready buddy to fork out some serious dough if you want to use Sprint and have multimedia on your handset. I hope they also told you that if you want to make a change to your rate plan, you're advised to have it take effect on your next billing cycle(i.e. no backdating)since Sprint charges one month in advance. Also unless you get...

Is it me or are some people jsut not happy? 15.00 a month for unlimited and key word is unlimited internet and pics and videos is not that bad. tmobile's internet is limited to certain content. You can browse any website on your sprint phone. Yes I don't like the thing about checking your min when you make a change but how often do you make a big change. If you add something I haven't had it affect it. Just when you change your core plan. Get a cheap sprint phone from ebay and you always have a loaner phone on standby that is what I do. And in 7 yrs I have not had to step foot into a sprint store for a repair. I also don't keep my phones that long as I love new ones all the time.

It must be nice if those are the biggest problems they have with their service.

I have standby phones as well. It's a good idea.

hey I can't know your particular case and area. I have had them for 7 yrs. I have tried alltel, verizon, cingular, tmobile, and a few local carriers on my many places I have lived in the military. As you can see I have stayed with sprint for many reasons. I have never had a problem with them at all. They were the only ones that had service in NC when ophila hit. Cingular and suncom were down and verizon wasn't even here then. I have traveled allot of places and was able to pick up were my buddies couldn't. Not on sprint but since they have so many roaming partners you would be hard pressed to find an area that doesn't get a signal.

So if you get good reception and if you like stuff like pic text and internet then you can't do much bett...

yeah use your head and go with what people liek that say and you are dumber then corpsman up. I don't care if sprint has 1 customer me. As long as it works like it has for me in 7 yrs I don't care about numbers. People like you for the most part that care about numbers leave and then after its too late say wtf did I do that for.

So in ending use your head and compare you had tmobile and now you have sprint. Which works better, sounds better, does what you want better and go with them.

good point. I am just nervous about the CS. I have had a negative experience already. Not that that would make me want to leave but as I said a while ago ive given up 600 mins a month, but gained 2 hours a day in n&w. I am not going to use the internet or the TV or anything like that but I do have the Sanyo M1 for Mp3's. I just hope I stay happy.

Every company has there bad employees. When you get one hang up call back. Also there are other numbers you can get that makes sure you get a person that knows what they are talking about. In 7yrs I may have had a dozen bad CS issues. That is not that many. I have gotten free stuff because of them too. Try that with verizon they will laugh at you. So its like everything else in life. Everything has its goods and its bads. You just have to find which has more good!!

Some people love to hear themselves bark. Who said I would be sticking with them for 2 years? I said I was on a 30 day trial and have enough time to make a decision which is why I put it out there. I dont use the internet on a regular basis anyhow. However, I do want to maybe download a ringtone here and there. Anyway thanks for trying.

Alright, let me clear some things up for you.

EVERY carrier in the industry has its bad employees and experiences. It is inevitable.

Sprint is an excellent service. They have THE largest coverage footprint of ANY carrier. Period. I don't want to sound like RayC here, but Sprint is actually more than a decent cell phone company.

As far as your internet goes, It's understandable that you don't want to pay $15/month for internet access. However, there are a lot of pieces of that which make it valuable. For example, you can access your email (MSN, yahoo, AIM, gmail, etc) from your phone.

Sprint phones run Java, making them some of the most flexible devices in the market. If you want to run an app, it's easiest on a Sprint phone.

Thank you for clarifying that as a nice person. Much appreciated. Can you answer one more question. Why does Sprint charge 3 cents per kb if you dont have a plan ? T-Mobile and Cinglar dont charge $15 for a data plan. I tihnk its 6.99 or so. Why do they have to be such hard asses about it? Why do I have to pay additionaly after buying the data plan if I want to view a tv station and or listen to sirius radio. There is no reason I can think of that they should be charging what they are. $15 should cover everything end of story. Again this is just my opinion but it bothers me they charge so much.

The simplest reason that Sprint charges 3c/kb is that they want you to buy a data pack 😛

There are new data plans that include quite a bit more...

For example, for $20, you can get unlimited GPS navigation, 50 radio channels, or over 20 TV channels on your phone.

It is a little spendier, but I'd suggest getting the $15 pack and downloading Orb. You can MyCast all of your media on your pc to your phone. http://www.orb.com

It's hard for a CDMA carrier to compete with GSM pricing, on anything. CDMA is a costlier, but more powerful technology. In comparison, Sprint's data pack is quite comparable to other CDMA carriers, however (see prior post).

can you explain a little bit more about Orb and mycast. I am not familiar with either at all.

Orb is a piece of software you install on your home PC. You can then load in your own media files.... music, movies, whatever you have.

Then you can, through your phone and pc's internet connection, access that media with your phone wherever you are.

It's personal broadcasting, essentially.

I know it's stylish to slam on Sprint these days. A great many here like to slam on carriers other than their own because they are ignorant a$$hats. It's a "the sports team from my area is better than the sports team from your area attitude." Grow up.

Not everyone who slams on SprintPCS does it b/c it's "stylish." Some people have had truly bad experiences with SprintPCS. I know, I used to work in one of their CC call centers. When I was there, it was all about up-selling the customer, not the customer experience. The reps that were getting written up weren't bad reps. Some of the reps who truly cared about customers were getting written up for not up-selling enough. The reps who had ...

Since around November, Sprint has implemented a new CSAT (customer satisfaction) program. Customers that come into the store or call in are randomly selected to a 5 minute follow-up survey of their experience, in which they rate a variety of aspects on a 1-5 ratio and leave any comment they desire.

CSAT is now a necessary requirement for keeping your job, and is commissionable. Making customers happy = $ 😛
