SERO+employer discount?

question from a newbie:
my contract with tmobile *it sucks like wow* is about to end within the next 10 days, and i am considering either sprint or verizon, so i want to get some info about sprint first:

i work @ wells fargo, and sprint offers wells fargo employees a 26% discount. now ever since i've stumbled upon this informative website *i'm loving this website*, i've learned about the SERO. so i have two questions now:

1. can i start a service at a physical location and then enter their email address to activate the SERO, or do i have to buy the plan online from sprint.com? if i can, can i just open the plan then use the email address of some "official" sprint physical store employee's email?

2. and if this can happen, and i do ...

1. No, if you activate service via the Sprint.com website, over the phone with telesales or in a retail store/kiosk, you will not be able to sign up for a SERO plan as these plans are only available via the www.sprint.com/sero web site.
2. Corporate discounts do not apply to SERO rate plans so you'll need to weigh the benefits of having a SERO plan versus a regular Sprint one with your 26% discount.
3. I myself now carry the Motorola (RED) V3m RAZR. Support (RED) and help fight AIDS, malaria and tuburculosis in Africa.

As depressing and disgusting as this sentiment is, it's probably the truth. But you'd have to quarantine the entire continent, and that isn't going to happen.

I second that. Of the listed devices, It is the only one that supports Java for Sprint, it also has an fm transmitter, and the battery life is outstanding, even with heavy usage.

You should go read the SERO Thread thoroughly over @ Slickdeals.net, it's called the "SERO : Sprint - Official Thread PART II" find it here:

http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=12 ... »

It answers all your questions and more, but basically if your persistent, you can find CSR's who will convert your plan. And yes, some people have even had success in getting their corporate discount applied to a SERO plan.

I like the Fusic, just picked up one for my kid. The other phone I liked was the Sanyo M1. If you sign up for that thru the SERO website, it was only $70 more than the Fusic, but comes w/ 1Gb internal mem and a 2.0mp canera.

It's nice to learn about how customers try to beat the system because all the information I gather here is given to higher management so the holes being exploited by customers can be plugged, rogue employees can be disciplined and Sprint can save a buck or two.

Are you serious?

The SERO plan has been exploited by both consumers and representatives from the beginning of its inception. S

Sprint, aware of this exploitation, chose to respond to this by extending it's length.

Hell, Sprint even released emails addresses that were not limited by the plans original terms, like savings@sprint.com.

They obviously don't care considering this was happening, and they still chose to extend the program even...

I find the funniest thing is sprint knows about websites like this. And not to mention it is someones job to look at them. I think its funny that ray guy thinks when he cuts and paste and sends it in like they haven't seen it before. They probably talk about him all day long.

Ray is probably like that one guy in town that calls the cops over every kid skateboarding down the street, or any car with loud music, or people being out past 10..."Yeah yeah sir, we'll look into it" ::click::

well, the camera may be a little better, but the expandable memory is a lot nicer. For the price difference, you can pick up at least three 1 Gig micro-sd card.

I was convered over to SERO after about 6 months. I had both my voice plan and my data card switched. I also receive a 13% discount through my employer. It's the best cell phone deal on the planet.

This is so messed up to say the very least which I'm personally disappointed to hear. Why should you as an exisiting Sprint customer be allowed to switch over from their existing wireless plan with us to a SERO plan when the SERO program is meant to be a for new wireless customers as a personal referral from a Sprint employee. To add insult to injury, you're getting a NVP discount on top of your SERO plan??? I firmly believe Sprint needs to take care of their existing customer base. This to me is exploiting the system. I pray the loop hole of the universal referral code to gain access to the SERO program is sealed as I feel the SERO program has been cheapened by you as well as anyone who exploits it.

I absolutely hate the fact customers exploit the SERO Program through various means such as complaining to our customer care and retention departments as well as using a particular bogus e mail address to gain access to it. At the rate customers sign up for the SERO program, what will be the sense for us in the direct retail channel to exist. Sure some people still want to come in to our stores and kiosks for hands on interaction with the various products and services as well as talk to a wireless sales professional like myself, but if I see just what these wretched customers are scheming..."Leech the bloody devil out of the sales folk until I'm engorged with their wireless expertise, take his/her business card with the employee's e mail add...

You mean the emails that Sprint specifically released for customers to use like savings@sprint.com?

Interesting you fail to realize that customers are being asked to pay more for services and features that obviously cost less.

How is it two people in the same area can have a difference of over 40% in price for the same plan and features? Simple, those who pay more, are paying the difference of these customers so Sprint can entice them into contracts.
