For those who work in the retail stores... Are you required to complete the CAR for every customer?

For those of you who are not familiar it stands for CUSTOMER ACCOUNT REVIEW

not for every customer. our store sets expectations of how many CARS on any given day. in my opinion you are hired to sell and shouldnt need some kind of form to prove that you are doing your job.

i dont look for nothing in particular. the only reason i use cars is because it is required. it takes a lot less time to research a customers acct than to have them fill out a piece of paper.

the reason the car forms are there are to 1. see who they work for, maybe they get a discount. 2. see what accessories they dont have to better offer what they dont own yet. 3. Know how many more lines they can add, to therefore offer to add additional lines. 4. see if what they qualify for an upgrade. and last but not least to ask for a 5

i do not need some sort of form to do my job. it seems to me that sprint has hired too many clerks and not enough salesmans.

I was told it was to track our csats. Now that they have done away with that part of our commission, I stopped filling them out. They have cameras that watch us as well as management on the floor so why do I have to prove my customer satisfaction if they are going to take that money away from me? 👿 😉

It was supposed to be a selling tool. But if you are doing your job, you are already offering additinal services, features, accessories, etc.

All it does it aggravate the customer by telling them they have to fill this thing out every time they come in the store and it takes an additional 10 min to get them out when they are only paying a bill because you are supposed to look at what plan they are on, when all of their lines are eligible to upgrade and blah blah blah!

Now if they think the reps were always doing that, they are silly! On most days, most of the information placed on them are bogus! Many make fake ones during the day to satisfy management.

Get ready people for a more detailed CAR which from my understanding is going to be a SUV (Sales Utility Vehicle). LOL! Now I see where we get the POWER from these days. LOL!

🤣 Yeah that's what I heard too. Who comes up with these idea's anyway!?!?!? I would love to see them work on the retail floor on a busy day and do these things that they are telling us to do from their nice quiet cushy office.......

At least we have still have jobs so pray for the 5,000 of our brothers and sisters across the country who are being shown the door. Sprint Nextel corporate just closed down both the two legacy NPI retail stores leaving my store(a legacy Sprint Affiliate Alamosa PCS one) and a retail store with two technicians on the other side of town.

I know and agree. We have lost one tech, our RSM and his assistant and the assistant manager unless he wants to be a lead rep.

We were told recently that in May we will lose our last tech will be gone because they are bringing in an independently owned service center. There are several dealers in the area so the retail employee's probably are not far behind.

We all may as well face the facts.... Sprint is leaning more and more to the indirect channel for distribution. Look at our television ads, they have had a tag line for Radio Shack on them for quite some time.

They want to cut costs by cutting faithful employee's. But they will spend money on things that make no sense and do not produce the end result that they are looking for ...

You know what, the SUV analogy isnt too far off the mark now because the new CAR forms are friggin huge now! Before it was just a post card size form, now the customer has to fill out this full 8 1/2 by 11" form.

"You'd like to pay your bill? Sure! If I could just have you fill out your employment history, 5 generation pedigree, favorite hobbies, pets, siblings, and the names of every person you have ever met that owns a cell phone on this sheet here, we'll get right to it."

I was so happy when we got rid of CAR forms.

That'll learn me.

I saw the new forms... they are in fact ridiculous. CAR forms are enough trouble as it is, but these new forms remind me of the SAT I took for college...

Ah yes.... And I made sure when we were told to use them today that I went through every question with the customers because we are told there will be disciplinary action if they are not completed properly.... I then gave the customers the comment cards to express their opinion to the company. They came in to pay their bill and had to stay another 5min for this form. What a joke. If I were the customer, I would be livid!
