A really dumb question i'm sure....

Ok, so here is probably one of the dumbest questions ever posted but i'm not exactly clear on the definition of the word Network. I don't want to sound like an idiot when speaking to a customer. so any and most help will be appriciated thanks.

my personal definition would be the overall carrier from websupport, *2, sales dept stores data and voice capabilities and signal
