Phones

Anyone check out Sprints phone selection? Numerous phones that had once been discontinued are back. KRZR K1M, Nextel I710. Also new pricing on some of the phones. I880 now $99 with a new 2 year agreement. 😎 Hopefully this helps Sprint retain and encourage new customers.

please help me understand

I admit to knowing nothing about iden. My father has a blackberry with his job. It is branded Sprint and his service indicator says 1x ev. He is trying to get two more phones for his supervisors. However his go to guy for the phones said that they are actually using Nextel technology. And that it would be cheaper to switch to Sprint. Now some other person, i beleive there rep said they are not using Nextel technology. I thought that it is more likely that they are using Sprint but looked it up and found out a little about iden and hybrid phones. Now I am very confused. Do you still need a SIM card for a hybrid phone, and then is the iden service only for the walkie-talkie feature? Is iden only walkie-talkie or also voice?
Any help on any o...

It's all black rubberized looks kinda like a Sanyo 7050 but more square. Our IT guy came in with it. I think it's going to be a great phone being that Sanyo has a great reliable build of phones

Is this true?

My friend went into the Nextel/Sprint store to get his phone check out while he waited the sells man told him he gets a back up phone"" that works off his current minutes. Then he is like your next month bill is going cost more but what he said "I take care of it". My friend didn't pay anything for the phone it self. But I told him I never heard of anything like this "back up phone" I think they add another line to his account. Is this true a back up phone? Or did he just get screwed?

SERO (Sprint Employee Referral Offer)

Does anybody here know the correct phone number to call to get an account converted to the sero plan. I currently have 2 hybrid phones (ic502), I see as of Saturday the hybrids have been added to the SERO site.

ic902 Problems

Hello all. I have been having major performance issues with my new ic902. I'm six miles from a Sprint tower and this area is flat terrain. I receive three or four bars of signal in my house out of a possible six.

However, 90% of the time I cannot place a call, I cannot recieve a call, and I cannot send a text message. Very frustrating.

Does anyone know if/how this can be resolved? Maybe a PRL update? Maybe the phone just sucks, or Sprint sucks, or CDMA sucks in general? I converted to this phone from a Nextel iDEN phone thinking this would be the 'next big thing'. At this point, though, I'm ready to switch back to my old trusty Nextel phone. At least it worked.

New Phones

I talked with a Sprint rep a few minutes ago and he says that soon they will have phones that use Nextel and Sprint on the voice side. In other words the phone will swap between networks not just one network for voice and one for DC like the hybrid phones. Has anyone else heard about this?

Why?

Why is Sprint calling & trying 2 get people to switch from the free incoming plans & to a cdma plan & phone? If I am forced to go to cdma I will be pissed & probably switch to AT&T & from what I hear Sprint doesn't need to keep losing customers.

In need of advice

I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I'm in a real bind.

I bought a 755p under the SERO plan about 7 weeks ago. The phone has been great with just a few unanticipated restarts and 2 mute outgoing calls (callee could not hear me) about 3 weeks ago. Last week, all calling functionality ceased on my 755. Wired headset and bluetooth are receive only, and the handset and speakerphone do not work at all.
I went to the sprint store and the best they offered me was to buy a new phone, go through treo's warranty dept, or pay out of pocket for a repair at the store. Stupid me did not buy insurance, since stupid me has been a cell user for over 9 years without a single equipment failure. I'm very easy on cellphones.
Obviously I'm not up ...

Hybrid phone question

I ordered a hybrid phone but am now being told that my area (zip 79415) is not available for the hybrid yet.

I originally ordered the ic502 (read the forum and it sounds like a good phone) but instead, I received the ic402. I'm having to return it because I'm told that I cannot use the hybrid at all. My contract is up in a few weeks and I would love the 902 but now I'm told I cannot use the hybrid.

Can anyone verify if this is true?
