SAY IT ISN'T SO!!!

😳 First off i would like to state that i am not partial to any cellular service.. I just simply state the facts on all services in the cellular industry..

with that in mind i would like to state that Nextel has more of a Highway Communication Market.. thats right.. if you are heading off an exit on any interstate be weary of how well service will hold up.. Infact it has the least coverage nationwide, other than mom n pop shops which usually only have local plans..

I understand why it has FREE INCOMING MINUTES though.. with coverage like that you'd have to give promotions like that..

and unless all your buddies have the push to talk Nextel service, it is not a wise choice.. take them up on there trial offer and see for yourself

Coverage in South Florida

Right now, I am thinking of switching to another provider, I currently have cingular and i am considering nextel as my next carrier. Anyone who lives in the fort Lauderdale area can tell me how good is the signal. Also, I currently work for the Public School system, does this entitle me to government discounts.

i265 on FCC Website

Here is the manual:

https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/forms/blobs/retri ... »

and as typical FCC acceptance to public offering it should be about 4 to 6 months from now.

No sign of the i930 yet...but I'm still looking. 😁

Does anyone know for sure when this i860 phone is coming out?

I heard Oct. 1 and I find that hard to believe because they always delay it. Plus when ever I call to talk to a nextel rep they say they haven't heard anything about it. If that is the case how is nextel going to release a phone in less than two weeks and none of their people even know anything about it yet, and better yet have even trained on it.

PTT Why?

What is the benifite of the PTT? As far as i can tell its worse than just making a call. As i understand it the PTT is half duplex so only one person can be talking at a time like a walkie talkie. From what i've seen with people useing them it's pretty much speaker phone only and makes that god awful squelch noise each time you release the talk button. And everyone around you can hear your conversation. Why is this better than just calling the person you want to talk to?

GOIN DOWN

I have never posted in this forum before but I just wanted to tell every employee and consumer of Nextel that once any of the 5 big boys.. Verizon, Cingular, Sprint, T-Mobile or ATT gets PTT you will go down in flames in a NY minute... have a nice day...

Nextel's Boost in the Signal War !@!@!@!

In recent news,

"Clear Channel Communications Inc. announced Nextel Communications Inc. has signed a five-year master lease agreement with four five-year renewal options that allows Nextel to collocate wireless equipment on Clear Channel’s 1,300 wireless tower sites and allows Clear Channel to collocate radio equipment on Nextel’s 1,200 tower sites." - RCR Wireless News.

All know that once nextel improves network speed & coverage they are #1. Does anyone know how significantly this will improve/boost signal strength for Nextel Headsets..?
