V 600

I am sick of the its coming, its coming stuff about the V 600 from T mob, so I have a chance to snag one off a Cingular guy, cheap. I popped my sim card in it, and it worked great, however, I cant configure the emial, of text messages,or send picture messages. It is still trying to connect on the Cingular network, and not on T Mob...my question is how can i go in and find all of the settings I need to set the thing up to work on t mob? There is a settings page in the phone with url addresses, and passwords and a bunch of other stuff, I need to know the t mob settings...any help out here?

Thanks!

Help getting a new phone

Greetings,

I've been a T-Mobile (Voicestream when I joined) customer for about 2.5 years. My original contract of course ran out about 1.5 years ago. Considering as long as it's been, my old phone is dying, and I wanted to upgrade and get a new phone.

I called up T-Mobile and asked what my options were considering I'd be more than happy to sign up for a new contract. I was told that I would not qualify for a discounted phone and would have to pay far above what any new customer walking into a T-Mobile store would pay for any given phone. The reason given was that the plan I've been under for the past 2.5 yrs has been a $30/mo plan, and in order to get a discounted phone, I would have had to have been on a $40/mo plan or higher for the ...

Nokia 3660

Does anyone have any info on this phone's release? There's a training doucment on the SOT website with every piece of info on this phone, including pricing and rebate. It lists the launch date as 5/12 for indirect and TBD for direct, which seems odd and backward, not to mention the fact that I haven't heard a whisper about it elsewhere? Anybody else know?

3 week temp phone

Help, I live overseas but am returning to NYC for a couple weeks to take care of the apartment I rent out (which will be empty and have no phone service). I also really need the wireless internet service they offer at Kinko's and Starbucks. If I just walk into a tmobile store will they be able to take care of me, or will my foreign address, etc. throw them off?

Ideally, I'd like to get their prepaid plan with 60 minutes for $69.99, but there doesn't appear to be an option for internet service with that plan. Of course their basic nationwide plans are cheaper (and internet $19.99/mo. vs. $29.99/mo.) but it requires a year contract.

Tmobile also offers a GSM Worldclass phone rental for $79/mo. Is that something I can pick up at a Man...

T-Mobile GPRS and Motorola V300

I have a Motorola V300 that I'm using with T-mobile. I just switched from Sprint, so far so good.

But I noticed that the GPRS icon at the top of the display never comes on when I'm accessing T-zones. Also, compared to using mobile web (WAP) browser on my old, old, Sprint phone the v300 is just as slow (as best I can tell).

T-mobile customer service told me that if I'm using T-zones then GPRS must be being used and I shouldn't worry that the icon isn't displayed. They said if GPRS wasn't working I wouldn't be able to accessing the web, email etc.

But... I'm wondering why the phone isn't telling me its using GPRS. Does my browser have the wrong connection info, is this a phone bug, programming problem or what?

I did notice th...

Deutsche Telekom SIM?

Does anyone out there know if a T-Mobile USA tri-band phone will accept a Deutsche Telekom pre-paid SIM while in germany (whether or not the phone is SIM-locked). I mean, It's the same company technically, but will Vaterland company's SIM card work or will it be locked to only a T-Mobile USA SIM card?
Gotta be some T-Mobile CSRs out there that know the answer to this one. Or do I have to drive up to DT's headquarters in Bonn to find out! Don't tell me to call 611 and get the phone unlocked; there's a lot of history behind this question ( YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW!)

thinking of switch fr VZ to TM-questions

My VZ plan is up this wk and I'm considering TM
mostly because i like the features of Moto V300 but i'm oncerned that GSM coverage could be inferior to VZ CDMA in my NY/NJ metro area and into Hudson River Valley. Any experience with the phone or the service?

Overall Satisfaction

I live in the Portland/Vancouver area. Does anyone have any complaints about T-Mobile's service. How would you compare their rates, coverage, customer service, phones, etc. to other companies? Any answers? 😁
