What happened!?! Ported out...

I have an ATT phone so I ordered a SIM card only, entered all the info to port out of VZW.
SIM card isn't supposed to arrive for a couple days, but my current VZW phone quit working yesterday. 😕
As if someone completed the port out already. But usually you need to actually put the SIM card into the new phone before you loose service on your old phone.

Little miffed that I'm without service for a few days.

Internet content filters

Hi, I'm hoping for some advice on internet content filters. I prefer basic, inexpensive phones; I've had a Sony Ericsson W518a for a couple years and been satisfied with the phone and its limited mobile email and internet capability. However, recently the Yahoo format was changed such that there are no content filters available. So I am seeking a new, At&t supported phone with some web access and reliable content filters. Does anyone know of a way of trying out the relevant features of a phone before purchase (or an online simulation)? Or failing that, does anyone know of specific models to recommend? I am an "authorized user" in a family plan with eligibility for a "free upgrade" so I suppose that affects which models would be availab...

I'm planning to join AT&T!!

I'm pretty excited about this. I live in an area that has a huge white hole for Sprint service. I've put up with it for the past 3 years since I have a 4 line family plan and the others live a few hours away but I've finally had enough.

Anyway, I'm planning on going with the 10GB/month (I think, maybe it was 6 or 8?). And I'm going to tie it to my home U-verse account.

Are there any benefits to getting an AT&T number versus porting over my Sprint number? Other than the obvious everyone still has my number.

How about any other sites/forums for AT&T users? I used to go to sprintusers.com but it seems to have closed down or something. I can't post there anymore and hardly anyone posts on it.

This should all be happening i...

Thinking Of Switching

Hey All

I am sure you've read posts like this before...I am a current Verizon customer and was thinking of switching over to ATT since my contract is now up. My folks would add me to their Family Share plan but was wondering what actual ATT customers think about the service? Am I better off not switching...I am hearing different stories from different people. I currently live in the Boston area

Thanks

Is AT&T launching AIO Wireless

I have received word from people in the wireless market are going to launch AIO Wireless in order to counter T-mobile/Metropcs merger. The merger between metro and t-mobile will give the prepaid carrier a chance to compete in the GSM prepaid market. I hear AT&T is going to pre-empt this by launching their own version of an all in one monthly unlimited plan.

Does anyone have any info and how we can get in touch to consider becoming a dealer?

Hey All (Used to be Nextel18)

Hello all,

Not sure if you all remember me, but I used to be Nextel18. Since I didn’t remember the password I decided to change it to this handle. I decided to switch from Sprint/Nextel to AT&T to T-Mobile USA. I can tell you that I have been getting much better speeds and services on T-Mobile USA than on Sprint and AT&T Combined. I never thought in a million years I’d go to T-Mobile USA but hey it has happened.

Just wanted to say hey to all my critics, and friends whom I spoke to over the many years that I have been on these forums.

Adam.

Jailbreaking?

functions of the phone. That is legal. But I can't think of the name of this process. It is on the tip of my tongue and don't know it for anything. Do any of you guys know the name of this process? And if you do how do I go about proceeding so I can get the most out of my phone. I am using the Apple iPhone 3GS by the way. Thanks in advance.

Denver

Current ATT Employees:

I have worked in Cellular sales for over 6 years, direct and indirect. I was very successful at it and honestly enjoyed the working environment. I am currently working for a major tech company and moving to Denver but it seems like I can't even get a call back from a Store Manager for an interview. So the question here has there been some major switch in the industry in the last year? Are they no longer hiring the experienced reps anymore? Advise for anyone that works in the Denver market? Thanks!

Phones for Elderly

Can anyone tell me the easiest way to figure out if a phone requires a data plan. I know the smartphones do but some of the messaging phone dont but require messaging. My parents dont need or want either package. Or if anyone has any suggestions. He likes candy bar and she likes touch (she has the older soltisce). I am considering the LGA340 because that is all I can find that does require the packages. Thanks in advance!

Need Advice on Phone Selling/New Activation

Okay, here's my master plan. ;)

Is this even possible?

I am currently under a 2 year contract, but my wife (we are on a family plan) is out of her 2 year contract.

I'd like to upgrade to a newer phone - my wife is perfectly happy with the phone she has (don't ask me how you can be happy with a 2 year old phone). ;)

Would it be possible to:

1) Activate an old phone for me and sell the current one I have that is on a 2 year contract.

2) Upgrade her line to the phone I want with a new 2 year contract.

3) Switch numbers so that I can use the new phone with my line, and she can continue to use her old phone with her line.

Possible?

Thanks. 🙂
