I started attws in slc utah. GSM service in Utah blows. Can anyone help me find out where I can find the code to unlock this treo 600 so I can switch over to t-mobile. I love the phone I just hate the service!

Are the dead spots in downtown Mountain View on GSM or TDMA?
I live in Palo Alto, but I'm pretty much traveling back-and-forth between Palo A., Mountain V., Menlo P. and Los Altos.

I used to have TDMA up until 2 years ago and it was pretty much awesome. Then I went to Verizon to get the V60c which was also flawless except for one big, solid black hole in downtown Los Altos, so last year I returned to AT&T, but decided to try out their GSM network instead, and I have to say that I'm pretty dissapointed. I've been thinking about going back to TDMA even if their phones are....bland. However, I've heard some people mention lately that even their TDMA net isn't up to what it used to be. I am currently with Nextel and considering a switch to AT&T due to the fact that I love their NEC camera phone which has speakerphone. However when I lived in NYC I had AT&T and the service was horrible, dropped calls, calls that wouldnt go through etc. Does anyone have any opinions as to the service and especially in the Philadelphia and surrounding suburbs and NJ. Please let me know.

Can anyone recommend a good/great phone that works with ATTWS service? I'm an ATTWS costumer who's phone only has TDMA. If ATTW come to my area, I will need a phone that does both.
Let me know if there is more than just one. I have already checked the one that was listed on this "ATTWS Phone finder".

Just got off the phone with a customer that had done a port out to verizon from ATTWS, the customer had service with Verizon for a week and decided that attws customer care and service was way better! She could not believe the people that worked for verizon and how incompetent they were. She ported back to attws and said she would never go back to verizon! 🤣

Will downloading ring tones off of someone. Like on a P2P program actually work on an AWS phone. Its a 3560. I'm not sure how he has em. Rar'd, zipped. I dont think that really matters. Just maybe if they are mp3's or wav's. I hope this is the right forum. Just put it in here because its an AWS phone 😁

Have a TDMA phone on its last legs and have been contemplating the migration over to GSM. Inquired about 8 months ago and the rep told me to wait because the GSM service was so spotty out here. Can anyone give details about their GSM experience in Southern California?

If coverage has not improved, thinking about moving to Sprint.

Does anyone have a heads up on a possible merger or buy out of SunCom (Triton PCS) in the south east by AT&T Wireless? 🙄

My contract is about to run out with Sprint and I've decided to switch to AT&T wireless GSM.

I'm just wondering if any reps in the group know of any new offers that will be coming out in the next week or so?

I can wait a little while before getting a new carrier and don't want to join now and have some better deal come out just a little while later.

I have a question to ask, you seem to have an "inside" on carriers and I respect your opinion.
I know you have head me talk about this in the past on different forums.
It's been in our local papers(in writing) that ATTWS is coming to Gainesville, Fl.(32614) in the beginning of 2004. And not only that, USCellular has said that ATTWS has taken them over here.
Why is it, that when I call ATTWS customer service, or send them emails, they play dumb on this issue? What is the big deal? Why can't they just come out and say, " Yes, we will becoming to your area"?
I have been using ATTWS in the area mentioned above 16 months now, using their TDMA service, and it works great.

Hey I need some advice here. Okay, you know from my past forums that I have TDMA service here in Gainesville, FL, 32614.
Sometime in 2004, ATTWS will be in my area. I am interested in a phone that has both TDMA/GSM. I looked on the ATTWS phones listed in this forum, and the one I came across to was the Siemens S46. I haven't heard many good things about Siemens, is this perticular model the exception? The user review seem postive about it. Will ATTWS be coming out with other phones in the near future that will both handle TDMA/GSM?

Not all of us have access to the new system. this you all know. but what you don't seem to know is that there is nothing we can do about it. we just do what we are told we are just reps not miracle workers. yelling at us is only going to make us want to help you less. i am more apt to give you credit if you are nice to me. its sad really. how some of you react is insane. get over it. in the future you should follow these guidelines
1) we cant fix your reception problems...we cant build you a tower sorry
2) yelling is not going to get you anywhere
3) "supervisors" or what we call res is the same as talking to us and they have no more power they we do

Looking at the current GSM maps on the ATTWS web site it appears that the service areas covered by Suncom are still roaming. I thought at some point the GSM National plan would be like the TDMA national plan where affiliates such as Suncom would be considered a part of the ATTWS service area. Can anyone shed any light on this?

I need help in selecting a phone carrier. I am torn between ATT, T-Mobile, & Cingular. I decided against Verizon because I do not like their phones. I want a national GSM plan. Can anyone shed some light for me? My main concerns are quality of service, knowlegable & helpful customer service, plan prices and phones. I want to get a phone similar to the qualities of the V300 or the Panasonic X70. Can anyone out there help me?? Anything help is greatly apprecieated.

everyone seems to think that cingular is looking to BUYOUT attws or tmobile. Why are people not realizing the difference. cingular wants to merger with them, they could not afford to buyout attws. large companies buyout smaller companies, they merger with ones that are similar insize. do they not realize cingular could not afford to BUYOUT attws, their worht prett much as much as they are
