Its confirmed!

Just heard it on CNN today, they're watching the stocks of both AT&T Wireless and Cingular... AT&T Wireless is going to make a statement responding to Cingulars statements they are looking to merge with AWS.

Too bad you guys who hate us went to Cingular, we may be one company soon. 😁

Go phones, dealers, & other things....

😳

Ok folks, I thought I would just put my two cents in and get it done all in one response instead of separate messages!

1# Go phone
I truly don't understand why people complain about it, if you use the min's or 30 days come up....then don't whine, read your paperwork, do your research....you are paying for the stuff...be aware of what you are getting into!

2# Dealers
(oh and yes that includes you indirect dealers or in other terms....people who work in a non-attws str. but sell our products).

Stop trying to F--- it up for us cust. service reps. I don't get any extra $ for cleaning up after your sorry butts! GRANTED, there are many excellent dealers out there, I am just talking about those greedy little dealers that ...

ATTWS GoPhone Prepaid

Some people out there have bad (or no) credit, and as a result need to look at prepaid as an option. Any opinions on this from either ATTWS reps or customers of the service? Do you think it's a good deal? What should the average consumer watch out for? I think since this is rarely discussed on this forum it'd be a good thing to get it out in the air.. many people could benefit. 🙂 As always... any info is appreciated.

Michigan Expansion

Any word on expansion in the Detroit area...

I-94: It isn't fully completed and is AWS going to just use Cingular for Kalamazoo or build out there themselves?

Thumb: Any coverage planned out for the thumb or just roam off of Cingular?

20/20 on lnp

did everyone see the story that 20/20 did on lnp? what do you all THINK about that? does anyone have any OPINION based on what they saw on the show about the story?
i think it was pretty one-sided but its a shame the wireless companies declined interview. i definatly agree with the customer on lnp its been hard on them.

LNP BASHING

What is the deal? Why is it that if a port is not done quickly people are acting like this crap is a suprise and its the old carriers fault. This is new to all carriers, suck it up and set the real expectations.Issue some damn credit and call it a day. And another thing. Bashing another company does not sound very good to customers. So many people call and ask to cancel a port because the unprofessional bashing made them change their mind. 🙄

Michigan (Metro Detroit) GSM coverage

I am an existing ATTWS customer using TDMA with a Nokia 8260. I live in Ann Arbor (but work in Southfield), and coverage is usually fairly good; some dropped calls, but what is most bothersome is only getting one/two bars in my home and often finding that calls have gone straight to voice mail. Here's my question: Is the GSM network in the Metro-Detroit area as good as the existing TDMA? I've several people at work who tell me to move over to Verizon. I also have several people who are happy with T-Mobile. ATTWS had the least attractive plans about 3 months ago, and now they have some of the best. Since I'm off contract, I can do anything. If I were to stay with ATTWS, I'd move to the GSM platform and get the Nokia 6800 using the Local...

In Sacramento CA. ATTWS GSM SUCKS!!!

I recently switched to Verizon because a buddy of mine has Verizon and never complained. I've had a Verizon tri-mode phone for 3 weeks and I have never dropped a call, furthermore, I have never had a signal strength below 4 bars.

I stopped using my ATTWS GSM phone because I could never EVER get a signal. I will be porting my ATTWS number next month when my plan is up and I doubt I will ever go back to ATTWS.

I can get a Verizon wireless service rep when I need them without waiting on hold for 40 minutes, and they are SO POLITE!!! They even threw in a wireless office kit when I complained I needed to get data from my old ATTWS GSM phone to my new phone. I NEVER received that kind of service from ATTWS. I'm a Verizon customer for lif...

Coverage question

Hi all,

I have an old Nokia 6162 phone and am looking at getting a newer more modern phone. It appears most of the new phones are GSM mode. I had pretty good coverage with my old phone using Analog and TDMA. Will I get the same sort of coverage with a GSM phone. I travel a great deal with work and have residences in both Canada and the US. Thanks in advance for any help.

Cheers,

Al.

ATT: GSM Vs TDMA in Northern Virginia?

I've been with Sprint PCS for the last couple of years and do not get a good signal at home ( in Leesburg VA ).
I am thinking of switching to ATT and was hoping to get some feedback regarding getting the GSM Service Versus the TDMA service?
Do they have phones which are dual mode and can switch between these two?

How is ATT service in Northern Virginia anyways? Has anyone used both GSM and TDMA in Northern Virginia/ DC Metro Area?

Any information would be appreciated.

New To This, Some help please.

I used to use a Trac-Phone, but I got tired of in a hurry.
I have heard good and bad things from reading these forums.
My question is this: I need acarrier with great coverage and good voice quality, I will not be using it for data transfers.
I can not decide between ATTWS, Verizon or T-Mobile.
I know this is ATTWS forum, and there are a lot of people who use ATTWS on, if you had to start all over again, would of you still gone with ATTWS?
I'm new to this, so please don't "cut my head off".
Most of you seem to have a lot of info, about a lot of different aspects of the cellular world.
I do a lot of traveling up and down the eastern seaboard(mostly florida and New England),I need analog also for those areas that do...

Nokia 6820

Has anyone used the Nokia 6820? This looks like an awesome phone. Seems to really be an upgrade from the Nokia 6800. My 6800 crashes on me a bunch.

AT&T porting

😡 I called AT&T on November 24th to have my home phone number ported over to my cellphone and was told it would be completed by November 28th, I assumed of this year. Since last week I have been on hold for approximately 20 hours and a few of the times for over 4 hours. I have got pain in my neck from holding the phone on my shoulder for all of this time. H-E-L-P.
