METRO --> AMP'D... questions

I plan on moving out of my MetroPCS area sometime in the fall, but i get real anxious so I start to research national carriers w/o contracts (had Sprint 7 years, and I won't do that mess again). Plus it'd be nice to travel and not be charged 49 cents a min. For those who don't know about Metro, it's the same as Cricket.. unlimited mins, text, picturemail, web for $50/mo.

Anyway, it's a toss up between Amp'd and T-Mobile for me. I like Amp'd because of the 3G and such, but am concerned about the customer service that I hear so much about on here. I had some problems like that with Sprint, so I just went right over their head to the BBB. Oh, thinking about the Endthe Boredom Hybrid plan.

T-Mobile is owned by almost all my friends, ...

Any word on new Amp'd Phones?

I've noticed it takes about 16 months for them to release a new phone, and will probably follow the Motorola movement... just wanted to know when they were going to pick up the pace and bring another phone into the mix. The Q would be real nice, but I wouldn't pass the checks and RAZR v1 has it's share of problems (as spoken on by every other carrier that has it).

I know I'm rambling... any word on new phones headed this way?

Memory card for the Hollywood

just recently purchased the Hollywood and I need to buy a memory card for the phone. I looked online and im not sure about which memory I should buy. I found a 1GB microSD Card that I think will work, but on amazon.com I found that there is a 1GB microSD Card ULTRA card. It costs about 10 dollars more.

Do I need the ultra or will the regular card work just as well? Or do I have to buy one over the other just because the other one wont work with the phone?

Dude, it's like a direct refill man

Sorry, I'm tired, but BabbleBug.com just introduced PINless refilling (look for their Direct Topups link) for Amp'd Mobile. Which means you just put in your Amp'd phone number, pick a refill value, pay for the refill and it's added to your phone, which is nice if your phone battery si dead or something like that. Shaves a few minutes off the refilling process, too. Just thought someone might be interested...

Wow at the Wait Times!!!

I have recently been expiriencing the biggest hassle trying to call into the call center because my password that I had used many times before to login to the website was not working. I wasted 25 minutes Fri 4/27/07 to get to a rep that told me "the systems were down and that I need to call back tomorrow." So I did try I spent 45 minutes on the line waiting for a rep without ever making to one, I had to abadon the call due to failing battery. So I sent an email to their tech support for the website when I imediately got a repsonse that they would get back to me within 24 hours (I have yet to receive that response to date). So I called back again on Sun. spent another 25 minutes on the phone waiting to never get a rep again as I had to go to ...

Strange Coverage

I recently go and motorola hollywood with amp'd mobile. I had to goto the next town to activate it, but it did get activated. Not the problem is In the town where I live I have 4-5 bars coverage at 1x and I can get crystal clear calls, However If I try to make a call it says it's calling and after about 10 sec it drops the call. Now I've called tech support at amp'd and they say "Well our system says you don't have coverage", but on their web site it tells me in the personal coverage area that I'm smack in the middle of the nation wide calling netowrk. also where I activated my phone has no coverage according to them, but I have full EV-DO coverage there. Any Ideas, Suggestions, etc. All I really am looking for is and explanation as to...

I stumped Amp'd

I am an Amp'd dealer and I just got an Amp'd mobile Razr. It was working great the past 2 days except for a few tv channels not working, so I did an upgrade for amp'd live. After doin the upgrade my ampd 'TV/RADIO' option was completely GONE off my amp'd live menu. I have no clue why so i called amp'd and they called a tech for me and they have no idea what happened, does anyone know what could of happend, i formatted my card and lost my info *but they credited my account for the loss* and they were really cool about it but had no problem.

Has anyone else had this issue with thier phone doin an amp'd live upgrade? SOme info would be great, I mean I COULD just swap the phone out for the red razr that we are getting in today or tomorrow bu...

Stop comparing Amp'd to Verizon.

If you are an agent of Amp'd please stop telling customer that it uses the Verizon network. They get the impression that they will get the same coverage that they would get with a Verizon plan. Which is not true. Amp'd is using the all digital coverage, which is quite limited. If you want to know the actual Verizon digital coverage look at the prepaid map. Not the Americas Choice map.

Phones??

What new phone are coming to AMPD in 2007??? Also can anyone comment on the bluetooth restrictions on the phone are they the same as verizons? Finally I have verizon wireless family plan 2100 min for 130.00 that includes the other 3 people that are on the plan and I was looking at AMPD's website and saw for the same price but I would get 3000 min for 130.00 and 3 additional lines can anyone comment on this??

amp'd does use the verizon network

don't let those in the verizon world try and tell you anything different. amp'd uses all of the verizon network but the analog portion. which as we all know is a very limited area. and don't let anyone tell you that the digital network for verizon is small, it is not. the new EVDO portion is just starting to roll out, but the 1X is the main digital portion of the system. so don't be fooled by the haters. if you go with amp'd it will basically be the same as being with verizon but without the verizon bs.
