Moto RAZR, problem with coverage

Okay, so starting yesterday, all of a sudden, I was trying to make calls and getting this message "This phone is not authorized for use at this time. Please call customer service"

Ended up calling technical support, who reset the features on my phone, then it worked again. But, now, in the area where 1X coverage is usually shown, I have this little symbol that says 3G. Does anyone know what this means? Has anyone else seen this problem?

BTW, I have an old generation MOTO RAZR

PDA-like phone or Google Talk/Gmail support

My Wife's phone is heading south. The call, back, and left buttons don't work. She can still dial from her address book, but what a pain as if it is a new number she has to add it first.

Anyway, I've gotten used to my crackberry 8830 on VZN (company cell). Unlimited data, gmail, Google Talk, etc. Does Cricket have anything like this that I can get my Wife?

I heard there are two sites you can access to get outside of Cricket's walled "Portal" garden:
http://www.google.com/gwt/n »
For IM/Chatting try this site:
http://www.ebuddy.com/mobile/ »

Can anyone with web service confirm if these work? Specifically, I'd like to see if she can access gmail and Google Talk. Cricket TXT/SMS is so stinking slow and unreliable. You never know ...

Leaving Cricket - Anyone Else?

I've been with Cricket for a week and a half and am leaving as soon as I can sell my phone. It's been an uphill battle since I joined them. Here's a small list for your reading pleasure:

- I am miserably unhappy with their rude and unhelpful customer service.
- I can no longer recieve text messages from Cingular; period.
- Picture messages are limited to only two other networks and seldomly go through.
- They have a 30 minute/30 day return policy on phones, so if the service is crap and not what they clame it to be, you're SOL.
- Must be outside of buildings to have a decent conversation or send a text message.

Has anyone else had any of these issues? I called and they "refreshed" my phone to try and get rid of the problem. This ha...

Not Poor Customer Service, Just Poor Customers!

🙂 Hah! The problem isn't the customer service as much as it is the customers from what I've seen.

You Can Roam with Cricket!

Did you know Cricket offers roaming? It's called Travel Time- get 30 minutes of roaming for only $5! It's really awesome because I can go visit my family in California and talk all I want for soooo much less than the other carriers! 😲

Roaming in Hawaii

I am in Honolulu on my honeymoon and have been having problems with my Cricket phone. The phone says that it is on roaming but I can't seem to call out. I am using a newer samsung flip phone (blue). I have topped up my flexbucket and have roaming activated. Any ideas?

Cricket in Portland

I'm pretty new to the forum and currently have TMO in Portland, Oregon. Works okay but one of my two lines has been on month to month since January and my other one has about 15 months to go. Would consider buying out of the one line if service worked fine in Portland. I do travel to California (Los Angeles) two or three times a year and to Florida once or twice. Believe it or not, a local Cricket rep told me it would be a crapshoot for it to work well in those two areas, even with the roaming mins. She actually owns a local kiosk so she is not a disgruntled customer. WHO has experience in Portland and have you taken the phone to the coast or Bend or out of state with good success?!!

Ringtones for phones without Mobile Web

I'm using an old Kyocera Milan KX9B that I recently had reactivated. I'm trying to download ringtones, but I only see the Cricket Clicks/Mobile Web purchase options on the website. I remember a while back when I first got the phone, I had the option of adding funds to my Flex Bucket and buying ringtones online to be sent to my phone. Can this still be done, or am I just screwed since my phone doesn't have a web browser?

Cricket Acquisition By Alltel

It is my intuition that MetroPCS and/or Cricket will be acquired by Alltel.

How did I arrive at this conclusion?

1. Alltel has a comprehensive nationwide roaming agreement with Sprint, which was a wireless industry first. Their agreement Allowed Alltel customers to roam on the Sprint network in major metro areas and Sprint customers to roam on Alltel in rural areas.

2. However, the next step in negotiations, an EVDO roaming agreement, never went anywhere, they stalled in 2005. Maybe things aren't all cheery between Sprint and Alltel.

3. Sprint is tanking, it's bleeding customers and racking up massive debt on it's ill-fated 4G "Xohm" network.

4. Alltel will want to retain it's access to major metro areas and even expand E...

Phoenix Area Service and flash question

I have no complaints with using Cricket, I was a die hard Sprint user in NYC and was fine there but when I relocated to phoenix all I had was drama and dropped calls so I went with Cricket and found it to be fine and NEVER have had a issue other than upgrading my phone.

Now I want to get the Moto V9M or the Maxx and currently you can only flash them, what will I lose here, I here people claiming you cannot get text, others say you can, I need a honest answer here.

Thanks
