So ive read and read some more that we wont be able to use mp3 files as ringtones but could it be that the samsung uses a different format? i mean i remember back in the day when i had my old samsung 850 that the ringtones were .mid format even from realtonejukebox. So wouldnt it be possible to just clip down an MP3 to size and rename it .mid and have it work on the u520 so we dont have to pay for ringtones???? let me know what you guys think

My nephew is 16 he just lost his mother and is moving in with me and my wife. He has metro pcs and his phone screen is busted but he can still make and recive calls. I have never had metro pcs so i dont even know what type of network it runs on.

Do you have to buy metro phones or can you get phones unlocked elsewhare?

since metroPCS is now a publically traded CORPORATION and has a stock ticker symbol, arent they required to release quarterly results and profits and customers, why dont i see this information on their website?

I think everyone should be careful what the read in this forum about new phones. Just look at past threads about new phone rumors and look how many came true. Do some research for your self, cross reference information, etc. Who knows what generation these rumors are by the time they get to this forum, not to mention people wanting to act like professionals and whatnot. In any case thats my two cents.

Ok, I live in the Bay Area, and I want to like Metro (especially after you guys got the Nokia 6255), but what is up with your network?

My friend had you guys in the SF/Northern Peninsula area... his girlfriend was over for the everning, and he receives a text message. Its from his girlfriend. She looks at it and starts laughing and says, "OMG, I sent this to you TWO DAYS ago." Wha?

Are things going to get better with Metro, or is this just a case of 'you get what you pay for'? I currently am on Verizon and like it, but it's always nice to have good alternatives, just in case.

(btw, 'Ghetto PCS' is not my term... its what my friend now calls Metro)

I currently have a MOTO RAZR with T-Mobile. If I unlock it, will it work with Metro PCS? I didn't think it would since it's GSM vs. CDMA, but I was looking on auctions on Ebay and they said it would. (I've never had an unlocked phone so I'm confused) Also, if I purchase a CDMA unlocked phone, will it work with Metro PCS (say, if it was a Verizon Wireless phone?) Other than the RAZR, I don't really like the phones Metro PCS offers and would rather get a used one from someone than pay full price with them. Thanks for the help!!

So recently, I've had to revert back to my V265 because my Nokia 6255 snapped in half ( ☹️). I'd say I haven't used the V265 in about a year or so, but now I switched back, and it's been doing ok for the last 2 months.

Today, just out of the blue, it keeps turning itself off and on, I mean, not even getting to a menu where anything comes, at all, just white light, off, white light, off... it keeps doing it over and over and over..

I have no idea what's happened. It's done something similar to this, where it will cut itself off and back on, but everything was ok once it was done.

Any suggestions?

You can watch videos or movies on your Metro Motorola phones (Razr/Slvr). Here are the software you need: To put your DVD movie that you own on your phone use AOA DVD Ripper- to convert DVD to AVI. Then use TubeHunter to convert your AVI movie to 3GP (cellphone format). Make sure you have at least 1GB on your microSD card. I am using 2GB. A DVD that can be 4GB can be converted to 170MB and still retain good visual quality and sound (Razr has an excellent speaker phone). With TubeHunter you can also get music videos from MySpace and YouTube. You can even add your own home videos. With 1GB you can have 7 full-feature films on your phone.

🤨 OK so i got bored and started searching if any new phones were coming out for metro well after some time and alot of useless hours at work i was able to track down some info....both the krzr and the nokia 6265 are gettin the boot from what ive been able to piece together .... but were supposed to get the samsung u520 and the moto w375. From what i hear the u520 will not let you use your own mp3's as ringtones but thats an alltel problem i do not know if metro will be the same way.... and finally to end this long ass post most people have said that NOKIA is out of the metro pcs loop............ WRONG from what I've heard were possibly getting 3 new models....WITH THE PRICE OF $189 NOKIA 6175i $199 NOKIA 6275i AND REPLACEMENT FOR NOKIA 626...
