VM4050 WAP MapQuest Mobile???

I think I will be picking up the VM4050 this weds. I've heard about the 35k cache limit. I also tired to get onto mapquest at the Sprint store and it would not load. I'm not sure if I was doing it right though. I've got a old startac and am new to the WAP borwsers. Can the VM4050 use vindigo studio apps. Will MapQuest Mobile work?? I'm not so concerned about being able to surf the web like on my computer I know the phone cant do that but I will not be happy if I cant use the same WAP pages that other phones can. Also I've read the chip is faster in the VM4050. Will the newer phones comming out be using this chip as well, meaning that more games etc will work on it or will this phone just be skipped?

A question about text messages, etc.

My friend just got Sprint. He switched his t-mobile number to Sprint and I've been trying to text him from my phone but he hasn't gotten any of them. The only way he can get text messages is when I go to the sprint website and click on send a text message. I think he has a Sanyo 8100. Anyone know why this is happening? And also, his voice always kind of goes in and out when he is talkin to me and that was never the case when he was calling from his old phone. Any insight would be appreciated.

Does Sprint have pay as you go Web service?

from what I have seen Sprint charges $15 for unlimited web access. Since I do not send Pics and only use the web on occasion on a cell phone I like the .01 per KB set up. or like the 2.99/500kb Cingular has.

Im on month to month ATT and am looking to swtich Carriers. My choices are in order so far

Cingular, Sprint, T Mobile, Verizon. Im a Motorola and Nokia fan as far as phones go But I could live with a Samsung V680. Im leaning toward Cingular because of the ATT deal and the roll over miniutes which many call a gimmick but my use is so topsy turvy its a nice add on. I like the Sprint Flex for the same reason. Roll over in reverse! I have been with ATT for 8 years and had no real big issues with their coverage or Cust Service...Im as...

sprint roaming

Hello, when roaming outside of Sprint's network is it primarily analog service, digital, or a combination of both. I am not a Sprint customer, but I am researching Sprint and Verizon. Thanks

Who should I go with?

These are the only 2 companies Im interested in.

*** Sanyo 5500 VM-4500 is lacking features ***

Hello everyone. I noticed that the Sanyo 5500 is lacking some features.

1)Voice Memo Ringtones (When someone calls you from your phone-book it will say "Call from (The name of the person that you programmed from your phone-book using your own voice)). Sanyo 4500 has this feature.

2)Countdown timer & Stopwatch. Audiovox/Toshiba 4050 has this feature.

3)Call times. (It shows the total length of the call and total talk time used on the phone). Verizon Wireless Phones has this feature.

4)Different groups for your phone-book such as: Friends, Family, Business, and Personnal. Verizon Wireless Phones has this feature.

5)Animated Screensavers. Audiovox/Toshiba 4050 has this feature.

The Weather Channel - can't seem to download on 8200

I just upgraded from my 8100 to an 8200, but I can't seem to download TWC on my new phone. I go to applications / weather, and they only offer WeatherNews, which really sucks. Doppler radar was so fantastic on The Weather Channel with the ability to zoom, animated and watch storms in almost real time. Is this app just not available for the 8200 or am I missing something?

new spring phones?

hey everybody,

i'm thinking about switching from verizon to sprint, but are there any new "flagship" phones for sprint coming out in the next month or so? the only thing that would make me stick with verizon is bluetooth with the moto v710. if there is a comparable phone in spring, then I will switch.

thanks for your help.

I just bought this phone and pretty happy with it. However, talk time is not the 3.2 hours that they say it is. Anyone have opinions on hthis phone.
