Kyocera Issues Battery Recall

They just had one for the 7135 just a couple months ago, I wonder what is going on with these Kyocera phone batteris. I find it Ironic that they are the ones that are for verizon as well.

Actually My friend was informed of this recall becasue he owns the Kyocera slider. Apparently the unapproved materials can potentially cause the phone to spontaneously combust. This is not confirmed.

Here's the deal: Kyocera has had problems with poor-quality batteries at least twice before. Shoddy workmanship meant a very small percentage could short out and become unsafe in certain circumstances. In response, Kyocera stopped using batteries from that supplier (naturally).
But just recently, they discovered that cells from that same low-quality supplier were secretly being used in new batteries from their new supplier.
These new batteries with the cells in question might be perfectly safe, but Kyocera simply doesn't trust anything made by this particular c...
