Motorola Not Delivering Android 4.0 Until Q3 the Earliest

So google reveals android 4.0 towards the end of the 3rd quarter beginning of the 4th last year. How can Motorola have a year delay when XDA developers have a 4.0 rom out already and from my understanding that's their hobby not their job.

Why I don't get is why the Xoom has Ice Cream Sandwich but the XYBoard doesn't....

Isn't the Xyboard supposed to be more advanced? Then how come the Xoom gets the update first?

That's an easy question. 😁

XDA posters don't have to comply with carrier testing and distribution phases, they just make it and allow people to download it. It's not tested 100% working, or fixed of all the bugs. In fact, being an XDA forum lurker myself, I've run into literally 100's of ROMs that were NOT working with data, or the Verizon software is not 100% compatible.

Plus, you're forgetting, Motorola HAS to build it around their own hardware and software (AND VERIZON'S), whereas XDA posters just build it to "work" as best as possible, with no regard to Motorola's original intent or Verizon's software.
