What exactly is the point of releasing the code incrementally supposed to be? It's not like anybody can do anything with the code until it is complete. Are they reviewing the code to see if there are parts they don't want to release?

It is just a guess but, I think that HP feels that if they start doing anything reasonable regarding WebOS, no one will believe that it is actually HP. Sad

Dude, what the hells that supposed to mean ?

By the way, i think its all a crock of BS and they are just going to spit out exactly what they get fed. HP needs to stop playing games and just release the damn code already.

...The code for garnet and the palm OS wrappers too!

HP doesn't own the old Palm OS...Palm itself actually lost the rights to its own operating system during one of its many acquisitions....that's the reason they had to create webOS in the first place...they no longer had an operating system....

I don't know how a company loses the rights to its own product, but that should be a sign of just how poorly Palm was managed.....

They have a small team going through the entire code base, making sure that HP has the rights to release it in the first place. All sorts of licensing situations within a code base as large as that.

The last thing they want to do is get sued.
