Many people have seen this coming from miles away... it has been a work in progress for a while now. And with everyone scrambling to build out LTE networks, little do they realize that the only FCC rule still applicable will be the two-networks-to-a-technology rule... since CDMA and GSM will both be supplanted, we will no longer "need" four national carriers to satisfy the rule. For purposes of government and anti-trust law, two will do...
Anyone can guess who will be the two who remain. This will make that solution look even more "convenient"... less choices available, but still a "choice" remaining so that the government has an excuse to tell us all to shut up and stop complaining.
