This phone seems to be a dream! in terms of size, features and looks. Time to dethrone the Treo 😈 Does anyone know when it will be available, also for Cingular??

You're right Mr. Roboto, nothing so far..but i lost mine and don't really want to pay so much to get old tech, albeit still one of the best.

Will it EVER be available for Cingular? It seems to me that there's a new trend of developing smartphones exclusively for certain carriers. First there was the Motorola Q, (strictly for Verizon) then the Nokia E62 (exclusive for Cingular). Maybe the Dash will only ever be for T-Mobile.

It does look pretty freaking sweet though.

the dash is a t-mobile exclusive phone, hence the name of it "T-Mobile Dash"

There is always someone with scoops on when phones are released from marketing/regional contracts. We all can see the "T-Mobile" imprint on this phone. The purpose of this thread is to find out availability of the Dash (or whatever name it will be) for Cingular, hence the subject "Dash for Cingular?"

No! Cingular can't have every hot phone that comes out. Stop being greedy. You can still buy the phone unbranded, but this is being sold by T-Mobile.

Here's a novel concept - T-Mobile LICENSING Cingular to use there phone - in essence - selling them the phone. It will generate revenue for them albeit a small amount.

Hmmmm.....

yea everyone is rite ... first if a phone gets really popular then it could come out for cingular .... and u can buy an unlocked dash and get it with cingular but what i tent to see it that if a phone comes out for a specf. company it usually is nothing that good just a gimic to try to get people to buy the a new phone and add 2 years to their contract.. a real good new phone wouldbe the nokia n82 or n93 !!!!! i want one soo bad anyone know whne the price will drop /. 😳 😳

Go to HTC.com, and you can buy an unlocked version of the "Dash" (actually the generic name is HTC Excalibur) for $500. Yeah, that's expensive, but if you spend $20-40 dollars a month to have a data plan, how long to pay off the extra phone costs?!?

I hate having to pay for these stupid data plans (a rip-off! we used to do that for dial-up phone connectivity for pcs, years ago!), and I've got wi-fi at home and at work, so I'm thinking of doing exactly the above.

Yes, I tried the t-mobile Dash with wi-fi and no data plan - worked like a dream! my only problem was the t-mobile coverage around my home is not good enough - i need to switch to cingular.

cheers!
