Isn't this a little out of hand?

Don't you think they are getting a little out of hand with camera phones? 5-megapixels! Soon camera phones will be too big and exspensive to be reasonable for people to buy.

This type of thing is definitely a niche product until they can get the size down. Trust me - manufacturers are certainly not oblivious to size and cost concerns.

Samsung is just releasing this phone in Korea, and just sort of to prove they can and grab a "world's first" title. The best they've announced outside of Korea is still just 1 megapixel.

I checked out Samsung's 3-megapixel model the other day. It's HUGE! 😳 But at the same time, they're also releasing new, much smaller and cheaper phones with VGA cameras. So size and cost are not going out the window - the range is simply expanding at the high end.

The 5 MP phone doesn't look very large at all. Especially if the slider was down. Here's a pic with a model holding it to kind of see the scale of the phone (unless she's very, very tall 😁 ).

That doesn't look big at all, considering you're getting a full on digital camera, cam- corder and cell phone. Remember when we used to carry around the 5lb models? How quickly we forget. So uh, were can I get one? 🙂

And she's pretty cute, too. I'm not big on the Lucy Liu type, but I definitely wouldn't kick that model out of bed for eating fortune cookies... lol.

this is the thing that trips me about the "big factor" how bog are some of these flip phones when they are opened? i know my moto 710 is huge as a house when its opened. so whats the deal about a non flip bar style being a little long when its opened? also just compare some other phones to it, its not longer than a 5165 and not thicker than a v710. so why are poeple talking about the "big" factor. we should be talking about the " when is it on ebay" factor...lol!!!
