Like the people saying "I'm not a data hog, I only use 2GB per month" or whatever. Well to someone who uses 1GB, wouldn't you be a data hog? Read one guy using 30GB and someone using 12GB called him a "data hog". I'm sure companies like AT&T love everyone fighting amongst themselves rather than focusing their anger on AT&T's lies, greed and lack of infrastructure investment. Their end game is to just get everyone off unlimited data. Glad I have Verizon 4G LTE with unlimited data for now. Used 13GB last month and 7GB this month so far, no throttle whatsoever. Average about 8MB download speed. Verizon has been GREAT with grandfathered unlimited data customers. My advice to people disgusted with AT&T is to go on Ebay and do an AOL of a VZW acc...

Just wanted to clarify AOL. Just means assumption of liability. Basically, you take over someones contract. You pick your own calling & text plan & get to keep their unlimited data plan. I did this myself twice in mid-December 2011 and merged the two lines into a family plan. A straightfoward and easy process to do with Verizon. They even have an AOL Dept that specifically handles this. Unlimited data with Verizon=GREAT DEAL. Seems with AT&T, not so much. Verizon has true 4G LTE & 3G in way more places than AT&T too. I got 30MB download speed with speedtest by the ABQ Sunport with VZW LTE!!

I have read occasionally where people have been screwed over by misinformed VZW Reps but were successful after calling back a time or two. You are supposed to, per Verizons policy on AOL, be able to keep whatever the account owner had including unlimited data. You are also allowed to make changes if you want. For example, Im in NM and took over two lines from people in CA. They both had a 450 min plan with some texting plan and unlimited data (both using Iphones) on each. I merged the lines into the 1400 min family plan with no texting (use Google Voice) and kept their unlimited data on both lines. I dropped the Iphones off the lines and added 2 4G LTE LG Revolutions. No problem and the whole process took about a half hour. I am only under c...

The 1400 minute family plan also includes nights, weekends and 10 friends & family (with Google Voice AKA "unlimited") and we get a 19% corp discount off the bill. Our deal is good. Should they ever start pulling AT&T-like crap, Ill just resell my account on Ebay and go to Sprint or Straight Talk (buy a Nokia E5 and use Sim in a GSM Android Phone) or maybe Simple Mobile (horrible 119kbps speed but can use any GSM phone unlimited everything for $40). As long as Verizon keeps things status quo with the unlimited data, I will keep paying more to be with Verizon and stay with them FOREVER.

Thanks! A buddy of mine and I tried it last month, but will give it another shot. Not jumping ship to Verizon is a thorn in my paw.

Good luck with getting the unlimited. A lot of unlimited plans being sold off on Ebay, mostly AT&T lol. I found 6 grandfathered unlimited data plans being sold on Ebay now for VZW. Just search "unlimited" and "verizon". You dont have to give the seller any info but your name, the rest you do with the Verizon Rep. You can change the phone number online or port over from your old carrier once you take over the grandfathered account/line. Double-data is back too. Seems Verizon is looking to score as many disgruntled AT&T data customers as possible. Good! Wish them all the best!

good luck with this... you might be successful but with much time and heartache and I'm still quite doubtful... or you could just man up and get a 5Gig plan with Verizon that isnt unlimited and just use wifi
