He hasn't offered to support them that I know of.

I see no evidence from either side. An accusation is not evidence. It's quite possible that LS tried to pay of a legislator. It's equally possible that this politician is attacking them to discredit them. It is also equally likely that both are true and the politician went public because he wasn't offered enough money. My money's on option c.
