I actually have high hopes for this new phone. To tell you the truth, I haven't had any experience with the new Kyocera phones, not since Kyocera bought out Sanyo's phone division. Back when Sprint sold Sanyo phones, pretty much all of those phones were rock solid and built like tanks. I'm hoping this phone comes straight out of the Sanyo division at Kyocera with the same build quality as the old Sanyos. Time will tell I guess.
But you are definitely right. They should take the design from the i580, i365, etc and just swap the chip to CDMA. I'd buy one for sure. I'm still having trouble letting go of my old i530!
