"We'd like to thank John for his years of service. It has become apparent that John has expressed his desire to create leading-edge innovative products and platforms that customers enjoy. We have no interest in that- we'd rather hold our customers in contempt and continue selling them second rate printers and third rate computers."

Do you ever do anything around here other than blindly worship and praise Apple no matter what they say or do, and insult everybody who isn't Apple no matter what they say or do?

Because you seem to be quite a One Note Johnny.

You're saying I blindly insult everyone who isn't Apple in reply to a post where I slam Hewlett Packard for crashing Palm and WebOS (a platform which I've praised extensively, see here: https://www.phonescoop.com/articles/discuss.p hp?fm=m&ff=5799&fi=2355500 ) into the ground.

As for many of the other companies, I don't blindly hate them- they make garbage. Yes, Motorola makes garbage. Yes, LG makes garbage. Deal. With. It.

Okay, you said one positive thing about a non Apple product in the 2 1/2 years I've been following this forum...big whoop, comments like the one I quoted above don't exactly help your point.

LMAO Well of course you praised it extensively just you like praise Windows Phone 7 extensively. Why? Simple, cause both of those platforms don't pose any threat to your precious Apple.

Had webOS become as popular as Android, I have no doubt in my mind you would...

Actually, I'm going to take Blue's side here.

He is an ex BB man that supported BB until they became stagnant. He found solitude in Apple. I personally am not a fan of Apple for many reasons and why I use Android. But After using WebOS, I have a reason to believe Bluecoyote is genuine. He has had no issue with the platform. It was strictly hardware and marketing. The WebOS platform is amazing and I sincerely hate HP for ruining what could have been a great success story.

I don't think HP ruined it, I think Palm ruined it but HP found itself unwilling or unable to clean up after Palm......

It's hard to remember now, but in the months leading up to the release of the Palm Pre in 2009, it was uberhyed and uberanticipated, almost as much as the original iPhone had been two years earlier, but then Palm decided to make the Pre and the Pixi a Sprint exclusive, which was an error because Sprint is a CDMA carrier, thereby cutting off the business customers who travel overseas.....and then they dithered 18 months in releasing a GSM version....and the advertising for the Pre was ridiculously awful...watching those hideous ads it wasn't even clear just what the Pre WAS....if you were an average consumer who didn't fo...

I write software for mobile devices. That is my livelihood. My incentive is to write and design the best software for the best platforms, regardless of who is behind it.

Of course I am pro-iOS, because iOS is a phenomenal platform. You can disagree with that, but there's a billion dollars that says otherwise. I think WP7 has the potential to be even better, and WebOS was nothing short of revolutionary in terms of potential.

And why am I critical of Android? For the same reason no developer has been able to write a decent Twitter client. For the same reason Google is regretting the menu button. For the same reason a 3 year old iPhone can run iOS5, but a brand-new HTC Inspire can't run Ice Cream Sandwich.

There's zero mystery here. ...

I actually have a HTC Inspire and am currently running ICS. With an unlocked bootloader, you can run anything you wish on your phone...Apple kills the market w/ apps, but i would like to know how many custom ROMS for IOS, are people making out there???

Oh goodie.

So let me clarify.... yes, you can shoehorn ICS onto even an HTC G1. But as a developer I can't realistically assume that's going to make up anything other than .01% of users out there. Not everyone owns 3-4+ phones and is willing to void their warranty and put up with compromised reliability of an already not-so-reliable platform.

I'm talking about builds straight from HTC that are 'official' software updates for the device.

Motorola and LG do not make just garbage. The Electrify/Photon? The new Razr and Razr Maxx? The G2X? Garbage? You truly need to straighten out your priorities.

The man is right for once. Motorola and LG do make garbage phones. However I didnt see WebOS going anywhere specially since Apple and Android have all the attention. It is like the Dream cast when it was released at the wrong time. xD 👿
