Here is a simpler explanation
I write software for mobile devices. That is my livelihood. My incentive is to write and design the best software for the best platforms, regardless of who is behind it.
Of course I am pro-iOS, because iOS is a phenomenal platform. You can disagree with that, but there's a billion dollars that says otherwise. I think WP7 has the potential to be even better, and WebOS was nothing short of revolutionary in terms of potential.
And why am I critical of Android? For the same reason no developer has been able to write a decent Twitter client. For the same reason Google is regretting the menu button. For the same reason a 3 year old iPhone can run iOS5, but a brand-new HTC Inspire can't run Ice Cream Sandwich.
There's zero mystery here. If Apple releases crap I call them on it, but I'm not going to pretend all mobile platforms are equal when, simply put, they're not.
