all indications are that such product will be available in cell phones in the next 12 months.

this is very very important stuff because similar product, which generally beamform and provide diversity combining, can yield 4 to 5 db increase in signal gain and that is enough to pull you out of some of those dead spots.

It is also a way of increasing network peformance via incremental improvement in the handset. Most of the cost of said product can be drastically reduced if it is integrated into existing RF chip sets.

Magnolia broadband has a similar product. Qualcomm is rumored to also be poised to offer such a product.

They should let me test their product. I have 10 radio towers where I live. Cell calls all ways dropping. 1 tower is almost in my backyard. 1500 to 1600 feet tall. Plus they put a huge satellite dish out there too. Whatever that is used for. All I have to do is move a couple of inches and say can you here me NOW!!!!. 😎
