So, why China first?

And when is Moto going to bring it here? Are there any reasons they haven't introduced a single phone with this new OS? Obviously, their CDMA offering have to (potentially) be used with the VZW UI, but why can't this be out on newer phones? Why the delay?

China pushes linux heavily. It's very welcome and accepted. In the US, carriers are very reluctant to support yet another OS. The A780 was supposed to come out in the US and never did. Until a majority of Moto's platform is ready to go over to the java-linux platform, US carriers will be skeptical. We should start seeing this transition next year though.
