AT&T Bumps Up Pricing and Limits for Data Plans
How the Hell Would You Sell This Load of Fertilizer?
3G/4G hotspot/tethering capabilities, Pandora in your car or at the gym, YouTube, Netflix , download thousands of data hungry applications that require a CONSTANT connection to the internet, picture/video mail, VPN capabilities, push corporate email, online gaming and so on. Feel free to use it as you would your home LAN connection through your wired ISP.
So, the customer would ask, "Pardon me, Mr AT&T Salesperson, what about this tiered data, what is a gigabyte? You say this device can flip and do tricks and do all these wonderous things but is there a catch, ...

Cell phone service is not a replacement for you home DSL, HSI, WIFI service. If you are going to be using streaming video, like netflix, or skype, and streaming music services like pandora and data intensive apps then you need the 2 gig data plan, after sunday the 3 gig data plan. And if you're in an area with wifi, use it, so you can save your data for when your out and about. If you do not have home internet service I would be more than happy to talk with you about that, we have some great deals for our cell phone customers on home services. All this other nonsense, you cannot sell me on.
As they keep adding iPhone customers, they will have to do something as their 3g network is not robust enough for everyone to have unlimited data.
Look at the history of unlimited data. ATT got the iPhone... dropped unlimited.... some years later, Verison takes on the iPhone... drops unlimited data....
Sprint is next.
You may be grandfathered just as ATT and Verison customers have been... but I guarantee you they will stop offering it and will throttle all their 3g users.
