I dont know about this phone. The Processor is kinda lame. You would think that 1ghz processors would be standard for Android phones by now. Also this doesnt sound like a phone that you will be able to get ice cream sandwich on. Looks like a phone that will be going to a pre paid carrier like Virgin or maybe even Boost.

Come on LG. 3.2 screen, 800mhz processor in 2012. Entry level phones should have at least a 3.5 screen and 1ghz processor at this point. That is the problem with android. No minimum standards.

Actually im a huge android user and i believe android has the highest as well most efficient and non-basic os out there...
-iphone is basic and more friendly to ppl who dont really like apps, free stuff, as well as full customization.
-blackberry is more organized and has not really swayed away nor changed from their first device although the touch, and speed.
-windows is more for media, n thats about it
-android is full customization, any app you can think of would b on the android market. and 88% are free.

Yes this optimus has low speeds as well as resolution, but why base our opinions on one or two phones?? when we have phones that are 1.5 dual core?? 480-800 24-bit pixels?? high 1080-p?? 8mps??

id blame the developer more th...

Entry level android phones in a nutshell, are horrible. Most are underpowered, not enough user memory, horrible battery life. All the problems high end android phones are reported to have, are tripled on the low end. When a new person to android buys and entry level phone like the LG Optimus, they are thinking they're buying the Motorola Razr. They don't understand 1ghz or 800mhz processor, they just know that there phone is slow, laggy, and has no user memory. "What do you mean I can't download all the apps I want".

Yes entry level phones are horrible.
But i also see the point to where the entry level phones can be good and can be liked as well to. for instance, parents want to get their kids a smart phone but nothing to fancy ya know?? or older people who are not use to the phones but want to try them n see where it goes.

So i personally think that these low processor n quality phones are good for some circumstances but yes, id agree as well to that they need to spice it up a little bit..

battery life does suck with all smart phones though. it takes a great app killer as well as battery booster to keep that battery working right. and if your a huge user, like to multi-task and do all which above post was about...then you should know that this ph...

I have an entry level Android phone, lowest of the low. 600 MHz processor, 150 MB of internal memory available to the user, 320 x 480 pixels.

I've removed the bloatware, I store all apps on the SD card with link2sd/app2sd and I have it overclocked. It's about as worthwhile and fast as the HTC Thunderbolt, a decent phone.

And guess what, it was $200 bucks full retail!

And the manufacturers embrace that. Last I heard, Apple wasn't eager to have you modify their system.

If you want a larger display and faster processor, buy a phone with those features. There are plenty of those. In fact, LG ALREADY MAKES TWO OF THEM.

LG myTouch
Display 3.8"
Processor 1 GHz
$80 w/contract on t-mobile

LG DoublePlay
Display 3.5"
Processor 1 GHz
FREE w/contract on t-mobile

@Bobblehead. If you can read or if you took the time to read what I posted, this has nothing to do with me wanting a phone with a bigger screen, but me wanting to see better entry level android phones available. Most people have no clue about specs, they hear, see android and think they are buying the Motorola Razr. Try reading before you post.

If it confuses you, just say so. Don't declare that everyone else is confused by it.

@bobblehead. Go to say BestBuy.com and try to do this thing called reading. I know it can be time consuming reading one letter at a time, but try to read the reviews on entry level android phones like the LG. Read how new android users complain about there entry level phones being underpowered with very little user memory.

It sounds like the problem is that they/you didn't read anything before buying their phones.

If they want a phone which does everything, it isn't hard to find out that not all phones are suited for everything.

800mhz is plenty for web browsing and email, AND most games. Everyone should not be forced to buy more expensive phones so that illiterate people don't have to do any research before buying the cheapest phone they can find.
