Sprint should have went with LTE in the first place

WiMAX was commercially ready when Sprint was required by FCC agreement to start utilizing its BRS 2500-2600 MHz spectrum. LTE was not. So, LTE was not an option. This is well documented history.

Know the facts. And do not spout off nonsense. Otherwise, you are the one who looks like an idiot.

sprint went to 4g in the first place, period

sprints getting there with lte and the different options for broadcasting it as well

They mad a business decision to get a head start on the competition. Unfortunately, Clear didn't have the money to roll out quickly enough and Verizon lapped them. Then Clear just stopped altogether.

The problem was more to do the execution than the actual decision.

Sprint makes bad business decsions. To their credit however they do come up with good ideas once in a while but they just somehow manage to poorly execute them. Sprint is a joke anyway. I never recommend them to family and friends. For me if you want the best, it's Big Red all the way. If you want value and dont necessarily need coverage - T-Mo's the way to go! They may be small but T-Mo will always have a place in my heart and...

During the Forsee years, there is no question Sprint made some bad decisions, including the Nextel Merger and choosing to deploy WiMax when they did, but in recent years with Hesse at the helm their decision making has been night and day from what it was, has Hesse been there all along they would have not going the Wimax route as they did...however they already had large investment in it when he took over. If you look solely at their performance now and not hold a bias based on their old mistakes they really are the best value for the money IMO.
