Potential mega-success IF they can make money

by psycros    Dec 24, 2011, 9:06 PM

More like, "help us escape from AT&T and Verizon". Sprint isn't so bad, but you have got to wonder how Republic will make money if they offer truly unlimited service for $20/mth. I just don't see them being able to hold that line. The funny thing is, they wouldn't need to. They could ask $40 a month for the same thing, and as long as it was contract-free, they would get a flood of customers. Sprint has some fine devices and the best CS rating in the business right now (they utterly humiliate AT&T's hateful and incompetent support). Phones for Sprint are also slightly cheaper on average than their AT&T and VZW counterparts. If you do the math it makes infinitely more sense to buy your phone outright and get on something like Republic or even Sprint itself (who still offers unlimited data - for the moment).
