AT&T Wireless Preps New IM Device, Service
WHAT'S THE COMPARISON OF THIS AND SIDEKICK OVERALL
I've been through the manual pretty exhaustively (it's no longer posted on the FCC site but should be out on the net somewhere).
There's really not a comparison--Sidekick has voice and a browser, Ogo has IM and POP. Sidekick displays one app at a time, Ogo allows views to all active sessions of different IM apps and email. Sidekick competes with Treo and other voice devices, Ogo competes with Sidekick on some functionality but is really in a class by itself.
Some of the paging devices you can still find at Wyndtell.com and other reseller sites overlap, but none really can handle IP communications as adeptly as the Ogo, and their pricing plans are 2-3x Ogo's. This is going to be a device that small and medium POP biz's embrace, as ...
