What gives?

How the heck can this compete with a sidekick with no phone capabilities? No one likes carrying two devices for similar features.

I took a look at the user manual off of the FCC site and it doesn't look as though this competes much with the Sidekick or that AT&T is positioning it that way. I could see the press making the comparison since there are only a few devices tha...

Right, Oct 15th is the date for imagine and dmdr, however the training material did state retail stores would start selling this device on 9/27. There will not be any advertising until 10/15 though.
and who needs edge if your only emailing and IM'ing all day
this is great for those who dont need voice and want to just keep in touch. I have yet to find use for the PMG/Bluetooth functionality but I am IM'ing all freakin day now. hahah
BUt i broke it, well not physically. I jsut kept adding and deleting accounts that it kind of crashed it. So i am getting a new account added to it. i love how you can have all 3 IM accounts open at once. and the sounds it makes are cool.

So do you chat in real time on this device? For example...when you receive a message, does it just pop up on your phone, or is it like on a cell phone where you have to contsantly check to see if you have a message waiting or not?
