Except those stock options will be in RIM stock, which has lost more than 80% of its value in the last year....so really being paid in RIM stock options is basically the same as not being paid at all...
The real value of this is it that they are basically saying 'we promise to turn this company around or else we ourselves will go bankrupt along with the company'
They are quite literally putting their money where their mouth is....
