A few corrections or clarifications...
South Canaan Cellular Communications is the license holding entity for Cellular One of Northeast Pennsylvania. Until earlier this year, USCC was a minority shareholder in South Canaan. In May 2011, USCC acquired 100% of South Canaan. Because that acquisition happened so recently and because South Canaan does not fit strategically within USCC's core footprint, USCC has not rebranded Cell One.
In this transaction, VZW seeks to acquire Cell One. So, VZW will not just "inch...into that area." Rather, ...
