Who does he think he is? He knows that if they are the only sole GSM provider in the USA, they will have more power, and would be able to persuade the OEMs to only sell AT&T devices in the USA.

Plus, people won't have a choice when it comes to roaming in the country, or when they go overseas.

I worked for AT&T and I know he and most of AT&T are nothing but B.S. They will say anything to get what they want. He and Ralph are nothing but &&*%$%^#@$%#$%^.

Even people who support this merger know that this statement about pricing is a complete lie. What a joke!

Ha!!! I'm laughing my ass off!! What a feeble attempt at extorsion. So,let me get this right; NOT having only one GSM provider will lead to higher prices??? Why don't we add; "The Earth will tilt on its axis and aliens will invade?? Might as well... Are they auditioning for a desk at FOX news???

At this point in time they will say just about anything.
GSM monopoly is not the way to resolve the issue. If AT&T gets T-Mobile they will call all the shots and literally stifle competitiveness in the market.
Many of the great plans T-Mobile already has will grandfather over just like the old Cingular plans did in 2004 after that merger but the new plans if any after this one will not even come close.
De La Vega should have tweaked that statement stating that "Blocking T-Mobile Deal Will Lead to better competetiveness"
