Actually, they probably could. In the end it all comes down to money and I'm sure there's a price that Basics would sell at. Is it a price RIM is willing to pay? We'll see.

I very highly doubt they can afford it. They have been failing so hard with their new phones since Blackberry 5... Also the Playbook was a nice little flop and their server crashing world wide... They are in deep ;x

Partly true from the perspective of a North American consumer, but RIM is a global company selling smartphones worldwide. Outside the US Blackberries are extremely popular.

I don't even like the name anyways. BB6, BB7, BBX... doesn't follow there past naming schemes. BB5 wasnt BBV.
