Almost good enough

They regressed from the 5-row keyboard on their Epic 4G. And ergonomically speaking, the keys need to be in staggered rows, not the square grid they always use. It really seems like this one was an afterthought, not one that actually had any careful design put into it.

Staggered rows aren't really that important on a keyboard that small. Its not like you can use anything but your thumbs. Even a shared number row doesn't bug me that much IF you have the SYM key on both sides - but like most QWERTYphones, it doesn't. This is like trying to use a typewriter that's missing one of the SHIFT keys. Nokia understood this a decade ago! If not for this failing I probably would have gotten this phone.
