Negativity is contagious

What amazes me about this whole thing is, how everyone seems to be so negative toward this deal going through. What would be the difference if Sprint had bought it or some other carrier? What would be a logical solution that would make everyone happy? Someone will buy TMO, even if it's not ATT. Then what? Is competition still going to be limited? Will prices still go up? As I see it, prices will still go up, competition among the carriers will become more aggressive, as the two large regional carriers fight to become the next national carrier. As it stands now, looks like Leap will...couldn't resist this, leap into TMO's place and become that fourth option everyone is afraid of losing and all will be right in the world again. Sprint would be bad, but not as bad. Why is it not as bad? Because having two carriers controlling 80% of the market is worse than having 3 carriers controlling the majority on about equal footing. Also, we don't want a company like AT&T to continuously hoard spectrum just to sit on it (as they are doing right now).

Everything your saying is a good point. I do realize that Leap or any other carrier can't just become a national provider bit, that isn't to say that they aren't working on it. It may take some time to do but, I think it will happen. As for LTE, I realize the it will be on different bands. My point to that was, to point out that GSM or CDMA will not matter. At least, that's how I understood the info I've read about it.

Also, I did point out that raining agreements would still be need. I'm not saying I agree with the merger or not. I just like to hear more objective reasons to why people dont want the merger to go through and not just repeat what they hear everyone else saying.

Arranging agreements is what I was trying to say. Since I was actually typing the response on my phone. So, there are sometimes a word or two makes it into the comment, that I did not intend. I try to read over what I write before I send it off. Obviously, I missed one.
