Apple Still 'Investigating' iOS 5.0.1 Battery Issue
funny how......

My iPhone 4s can barely last 12 hours = problem, Apple issues a software fix within two weeks.
My HTC Inspire often dropped signal, even with a minimal grip = normal
My iPhone 4 could drop signal if I cupped the bottom of the phone = problem. Apple gives me a free case of my choice.
So yes, the iPhone does have problems. The difference is:
A) Apple acknowledges and takes steps to remedy/fix them
B) They are able to fix bugs in a reasonable timeframe (aka two weeks as opposed to the 5 months for the HTC Thunderbolt or the not-at-all for the HTC Inspire)
C) Even when the iPhone is at its worst, it's usually better than Android at its best.
Regarding everything else, that's not anecdotal evidence. Apple actually released this software update. The case program also extends beyond anecdotal evidence.
Regarding the HTC, seems rather consistent across the board:

In other words, there's a clear pattern from firsthand users. My experience with my HTC Inspire was firsthand. If that's not enough, keep your head in the sand.

Does iPhone make one of those?
Correction: "Does Apple make"
Shuddering at the thought of sounding like an oblivious, trendy consumer. 😁
The reason why battery life is crap on so many smartphones these days is because of the endless 'specs war', they are simply cramming too much onto these phones, the hardware can't handle it.
The problem is not the software, the problem is the specs war. It's time to stop pushing more and more features onto smartphones and start focusing on quality and performance.
