Verizon Planning Next LTE Expansion on December 15
Hard not want to sign with them
I just switched at work from a Sprint USB Connection to a Verizon MiFi and the difference is everything one could hope for.
Louisville, KY market here...and sooo tired of Sprint's network being hit and miss with mostly misses in the last 9 or so months. Before that I have been a Sprint Customer for about 12 years.
But lately 2gb would be enough for me. Plus I wouldnt mind actually being able to connect to 4g when im in the Cleveland, OH area already.....

A 2 GB cap for the same price as unlimited with Sprint. So what if it's fast? It's completely and utterly useless to the average consumer.
Your value complaint has some merit. But your extreme generalization about the data needs of the "average consumer" is way out of touch. The "average consumer" uses nothing close to 2 GB per month. So, the "completely and utterly useless" comment might apply to a data abuser, but not to the "average consumer."

Since Verizon is already juggling 90+ million users (not counting MVNO's)and that number is climbing while Sprint's is supposedly decreasing, doesn't that go against your network congestion theory? That is the #1 problem I have with everyone who says this--because it goes against logic and reason. More people competing for the same resources won't have a better user experience than fewer competing for the same. It just doesn't add up.
Even if your contention is correct, slower data that's unlimit...

you'd wanna look at subscribers per tower...
you could absolutly have more data congestion with less customers because you network is small or less efficient.
You also sound like you are in love with the word unlimited... because it sounds sexy
2GB of data isn't that much of a problem considering 95% of the subscriber base doesn't use more than that.... most of anyone that would however probably already is grandfathered under the unlimited plan package

Really, in my humble opinion what is the point of unlimited if it doesn't work. I also see your point but only if Sprint actually works where you live. Most of the time I am lucky if I can get in the 30k to 100K range for download speed here in Louisville KY. (And this is tested across multiple devices on different accounts.) And, with a corporate discount 5GB is actually $40.50 for me and with the current promotion it will be 10GB for $40.50. That isn't unlimited but it is all that I will likely need especially with WiFi at home and work. But, thanks for your opinion...it only adds to the forum's value.
Perhaps I should've indicated this to be true if you live in a Sprint coverage area. O...
