Why not?
Moto has been making the main CPU for the Mac's, why not this? With hard drives shrinking to the size of a quater, it won't be long till a phone has a hard drive inside! Can you imagine a 40 Gig HD in a cell phone? 🙄

I dont' know about you, but the only reason I'd need that is to store mp3's. Of course then I'd have to equip my car with bluetooth so I could play them while charging and not kill the battery in the phone.

actually the partnership between apple moto and ibm has been dead for a while. Big blue makes the G5 and is soley to blame for the current production bottleneck.

Moto is getting out of the CPU business in terms of processors for Apple etc. The new G5 Chips are made by IBM in New York, derived from the IBM Power series of chips.
Every portable, desktop or rackmount computer Apple currently makes that is not a G5 is still a Moto chip (so everything except G5 towers and Xserves). you can assume everything will migrate to IBM G5s (or G6 or whatever).... but who knows. the point is that G5 chips will not be in a powerbook for at LEAST 6 months, and the ibooks will follow that, so Apple is still buying a lot of processors from Moto for the next year or more.
