I've noticed that Motorola's been really kickin up the use of bluetooth in their handsets. Now I know that they're a member of the Bluetooth SIG, but is this going to become a standard feature with their new phones?

I'm a big bluetooth fan, I love the convenience and universality of it and would absolutely LOVE for it to become as standard as a color screen has become.

Motorola, Nokia and Sony Ericsson all already make Bluetooth standard in their high-end phones. I think that you will see BT expand to certain mid-range models, but no, I don't think you'll see it in low-end phones any time soon. It will always add noticeable cost, both in components and testing.

Color displays are just an improved version of an existing, required component, and basic ones don't add any significant cost these days. So no, I don't ever see Bluetooth becoming as common as color displays.
