I'm wondering what battery life on this device will be like, if the underpowered OMAP CPU will help give it something closer to a phone's battery life..

I'm betting you're reasoning is dead on. Some of these IPAQs have 400 and 600 mhz processors. Could you see a 600mhz powered IPQ/Phone hybrid getting 2.5 hours of talk time? I couldn't.

I've got a 400Mhz Dell Axim x3i and it chews through the batteries steadily with just regular usage (maybe 4 hours of just normal usage, and this is with the unit stepping down to 200Mhz most of the time).. The Pocket PC platform is a power hungry OS, but I'm sure MS has implemented something in the phone version...
