If it's anything like the rest of Verizon's phones, you'll have to wait forever for the a840.

Yet another crappy flip phone. Still doesn't provide international roaming.

Come on Verizon, can't you release some half decent handsets and not the fisher-price models?

I guess you are looking for the phones that can also take in SIM cards as well as roam on the north american CDMA network. That would be quite a few features combined into one phone. I think they wanted to concentrate on the bluetooth and camera features rather than international roaming and battery life.

And... the Motorola A840 is a CDMA/GSM version of the V710. So they'll have 2 International handsets soon.

Wow, I never new some people could get so offended in this forum. I am no pro at Verizon I admit, but that is why I used the statement "I think" and "I am guessing" in my previous posting. I was not claiming my word as Gospel. So I now stand corrected. Angcal you sound like you are going to pop an artery in your forehead with all your firey responses to everyone...lol! 🤣

Ok, but can you find it for sale anywhere? I haven't even seen it on eBay.

What good is having a phone that no one can buy?

You will be unable to find that quad band samsung phone on ebay or the website. It is only available on the business channel.

I *think* you can get it as a individual customer.. But this phone is pretty large. It's hella nice though.

Also VZW's main concern is UNITED STATES coverage and overseas coverage be damned for the most part. I mean sure they offer international use on their quad band phones and such and offer international traveller.....

You have to look at Joe and Jane Average cell phone user. They stay in USA. They call their friends and family from the shopping mall or the grocery store. In my area a vacation is one state away, maybe 2.

So all of y'all wishing for a GSM/CDMA based VZW phone can keep wishing. Internatio...

So all of y'all wishing for a GSM/CDMA based VZW phone can keep wishing. International use on VZW phones is not a priority. Domestic and country use in the United States is.
I think you're concerns are falling on deaf ears, Fox.

Huh? 😕 The A840 does provide international roaming - that's its main feature.

I wouldn't call the V710 and A840 "fisher-price" models. Having held both of them, they seem to be very well-built to me. And they're certainly loaded with serious features. What exactly is "crappy" about them?

In fact, I'd say that the V710 and A840 are a perfect example of Verizon finally listening to people like you and releasing serious phone...

Neither do I. While we all may be anxious to get our hands on them, I don't think all of us would necessarily condemn Motorola on the whole. I liked my t730 🙂 , but I happened to like the Nokia 3589 better (and man, I wouldn't mind that speaker phone on the v60s).

'Drama, it's awesome. Loud as hell. I had to replace my recently departed T720 with one that I happened to have kicking around, and this thing WORKS. I took it to an area where a buddy had no service with his T730, and lo! I had 2 bars. Talk about pissed him off. It seems that Moto finally got this model juuuust right. I like the 3589i too. It's strong & simple to use, which a lot of phone-naive people like. It's also fairly dur...

They are essentially the same phone, except for GSM instead of Bluetooth. But I'm sure the GSM/GPRS roaming requires significant extra testing.

If I had to guess, I would expect the A840 to be released about 4 months after the V710. Just a guess, though. 😉
