Unlike Verizon at least AT&T gets the price right

Hopefully now Big Red will end this $299 bull$hit now that they see AT&T not doing it.

Well obviously but $299 is overkill don't you think? Especially for the single-core devices they had previously

Its def overkill, T-mobile just released the GS2 and its 229.99(after rebate) which was a weird price when i saw it in the system. $30 of pure markup for profits.

LOL Profits!? You realize how much money carriers LOSE when they sell phones at that price?

Most carriers are purchasing phones from the manufacturer for around 95% of what the retail price is they sell it for...AKA "Full Price". They make it up with the services that the customer signs their contract for.

Otherwise, how else would the Manufacturer make any money? We would EASILY see $1,000+ priced smart phones if carriers marked them up like that.

Only dumb people go buy phones from corporate stores third party retailers have way better prices on phones I.E. $150 for the Thunderbolt at places like RadioShack and Best Buy, but I agree $299 for a phone on contract is craziness.
