As is always the case with Verizon....getting the technology as it is on it's way out... The treo 600 already offered by ATTWS, Cingular, Sprint, and T-Mobile. Not only that, but the Treo 610 I believe is going to be coming out in 4 months. Way to stay on top of things Verizon!!!!!

how funny is that message.. very ionexperinced wireless consumer.. wel it is true verizon comes out with the newest technology later, verizon's phones, data and other features and phones always seem to work better. most likely this is becasue before they release these devices and features they want them to work for the consumer, unlike the other carriers. inexperienced consumers are funny. have a great day

later? more like completely after the fact. btw i have an extra pentium II 466 dell for sale. i can let you have it for just $1000 whatdaya say?

why defend a company that is obviously not in touch with the pulse of it's user base? this coming from just another soon-to-be former cu...

You are so right on! VZW is the industry worst when it comes to phones. I would not have a problem with that if the price of the plans they offer would reflect their lack of investing in updated phones. If you ask 10 people that know anything about phones, I would bet at least 8 of them would say VZW takes way..... to long to come out with a new phone.

So this is what everyone in the forum is saying: they would rather have a phone that has more features on it that ninety percent of people do not even use then have a phone that works where you need it to work? This right here just goes to show everyone that the people in this forum think they know what they are talking about but in actuallity have no idea about the wireless industry. 311, I just honestly don't believe you. What happened with all those companies? Did you get fired because you didi not know your job? If it id true tell what it mens if a phonr has two nam's. Can you tell me without having to look it up on the internet?

No, I think what people are saying is entirely reasonable: they want Verizon's excellent service quality and the phones that customers are demanding. If Verizon's policies or standards are preventing it from releasing phones like the Treo on time, then it seems a reasonable conclusion that something needs to be adjusted in the way Verizon evaluates phones, or whatever it is that creates the delays. A company has to meet consumer demand or lose profits, and I'm guessing that Verizon has suffered to some extent by being so late with the Treo.

Verizon should figure out a way to streamline its approval process on the most desirable - and note that I'm specifically saying desirable, NOT exotic - phones so that it can deliver them to customers ...

I agree with Soulbarn. Verizon does a lot of things right, but just like Bell Mobility up hear in Canada, they are always 2 steps behind when it comes to releasing phones. I know Verizon is trying to be as thorough as possible when evaluating a phone, but i am sure there is a way they can quicken that process.
Verizon is consistently the best carrier in North America in terms of the ratings so I am sure they are doing something right. If they get over this self-caused speed bump, can you imagine what kind of Juggernaut they would become? Scary. 😳

Verizon's coverage is absolutely the best in the US. I won't even begin to argue with that. That just isn't the most important thing to everyone.

A cloud cover can get in the way of my DirectTV satellite feed, but I'll put up with it because it offers some cool features that my local cable provider doesn't.

Verizon's lack of a bluetooth phone is a prime example of how behind their lineup is. Even with the Moto V710 coming out, what I've read suggests they went out of their way to cripple an open standard to a level where it becomes almost pointless.

Inexperienced spellers are funny. Either get Hooked-on-Phonics or start using a spell checker! So, you think Verizon's services always work better huh? How soon we forget their lame attempt at PTT.
