I just ordered two. We have a 3g model. I'm sure it will be faster and more responsive than our current models. I just wish the new s had a new design. SIGH.....

No offense Larry, but in our generation, we spoke differently to get our point across to businesses when we had wishes that were not given.

This is why Apple succeeds in not giving you that wish you seeked.

You "wish there was a different design", yet you make the purchase anyway, even though other designs may meet your specifications.

The iPhone is indeed a premeir product. However, given the wish list of current and previous iPhone users, Apple omitted many features that was on these wish lists.

So it all boils down to this: Why should a company give you what you want, when they know you will purchase it anyways?

I'm not trying to sound hateful towards Apple as I used to support them years ago. It's just that my generation...

You're usually overdramatic and over the top but you make a really great point with this one John.

"Why should a company give you what you want, when they know you will purchase it anyways? - Couldn't have said it better bro.

Very well said, This seems to be so true with many phone purchases these days and especially true with Apple.

I am not knocking them either. I own Apple desktops, laptops that suit me well, then I decided to give the 4s a try.
It's lacking in several key areas for me that I need. I can't afford to choose to live with what are real annoyances in IOS for me, so mine is going back but i suspect many will buy an iPhone and choose to hope for the next one to address what they want.

This type of rationale is every companies dream to get consumers into and Apple has figured out the magic formula for the time being.

The practical side of me says to kick this phone to the curb but there is still that part of me that says. "what the heck ar...

No offense taken John, except for the "generation" comment. We maybe of the same generation! As I noted in my post, I have a 3g. It's 3 1/2 years old, slow and not as responsive as it should be hence the purchase. I'm sure many people have bought an item thinking "well it fits most of my needs". You may have also. I believe the iphone is better suited to my needs than other phones out there. Based on those "needs" I made the plunge.

Oh yeah, the 2nd phone is for my college age son whose iphone 3g is dying.

So I have my reasons and your pontificating on what I should do really doesn't impress/matter me.

nice response! I agree that if a product meets 8 out of 10 of your ideal criteria then its a good match and you should make the decision whether or not to purchase it yourself. If its missing one small change you wanted (form) this may not be a deal breaker and may not cause you to vote with your feet.
